Adjournment www. mountprospect. orp/sistercities sistercities a(1� nountprospect.org MOUNT PROSPECT SISTER CITIES COMMISSION DRAFT Minutes: September 16, 2010 Attendees: Paula Randant, Gary Randant, Judy Thorne, John Korn, Skip & Janice Farley, Denise Rano, Cindy Kiel, Dorothy Kucera, John Sibrava, Irvana Wilks, Lorrie Huber, Mary Ann Sibrava, Maura El Metennani, Mike Karsen, Tricia Fusilero. I. The meeting was called to order by Dorothy at 5:35 PM. II. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with corrections. III. Chair remarks- Dorothy Dorothy shared some thinking and ideas about Sister Cities as an organization and people to people outreach. She has been attending some state wide functions and shared how some other city organizations work. REPORTS: Old Business IV. Denise reported on the Community trip to France September 24 to October 1, 2010. There are 25 people going on the trip, the attendees will have a tour of Sevre. V. Book Crossing- Mary Ann reported that the Library did a children's story time at the French Market reading the stories identified by the MP and Sevre crossing planners. There will be another children's book reading at Borders the first week of October. There will be a celebration on 11/7. The library is using social media to discuss the books. VI. 4`" of July Parade- Mike K, Lorrie H, Judy and Mark Thorne and Tricia all walked in the parade with signs. It was hot but fun and the parade was well attended. VII. French Market at the Farmers Market 9/12/10. The Day went well. The Sister City booth had sachets made by Dorothy and little knit baby sweaters and hats and booties. The sale items made $535. It was a lovely sunny day and had lots of visitors. VIII. The Wine Tasting Event will be during French Week, November 4 at Vino 100. Maura Reschke usually organizes the Wine tasting but she is out with a knee replacement. Several members offered to do the necessary tasks. IX. Letter to Ambassador- Cindy K volunteer to send a letter to the American Ambassador to France informing him of all the cultural activities that Mount Prospect and Sevre Sister City organizations have been facilitating. X. Dorothy needs a volunteer to do event information in the Blog on the Sister City organization web site. Paula R. Volunteered to pursue it. XI. Dorothy also needs someone to write an article in the state Sister Cities newsletter that comes out 4 times per year. Tricia F. volunteered to pursue it.
