AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Article IV entitled "Offenses Against Property" of Chapter 23
of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended by
adding a new Section 23.#06 ent:tled "Theft of Recyclables," so that said
Section 23.#06 shall be and read as follows:
" Section 23.t~06. Theft of Recyclables. It shall be unlawful for any person to
collect, obtain, possess or pick up any recyclable item placed for collection in front
of a residence as part of the Village of Mount Prospect's Recycling Program, unless
said person is licensed as the Exclusive Residential Recychng Contractor under the
provisions of Chapter 11 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect."
SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
