HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/07/1934 VB minutes 3 Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, 111., held in the Village Hall in said Village on November 7, 1934, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., pursuant to adjournment. The meeting Was called to order by President Meyn and on call of the roll the following were found to be present: Mr. Merman F. Meyn, President, and Messrs. Alvin Seigel, Dudley W. Budlong, Arvid Carlson, Herman Haas, Walter Niebuhr and Edwin Wille, Trustees. Absent: None. The Clerk read the minutes of the last regular meeting and on motion made, seconded and carried the minutes were ap- proved as read. The Village Treasurer presented his monthly report and upon motion by Mr. Haas, seconded by Mr. Beigel, same was ordered filed. The Treasurer also presented monthly statement of the balances due in the various special assessment funds and upon motion made by Mr. Beigel, seconded by Mr. Niebuhr, same was ordered filed. Budlong. • • • ... 31.25 It was moved by Mr. Beigel that the foregoing bills be paid. The motion was seconded by Mr. Haas and the roll called with the following result: Mr. Beigel voting aye; Mr. Budlong voting aye; Mr. Carlson voting aye; Mr. Haas voting aye; Mr. Niebuhr voting aye; Mr. Wille voting aye. Total Ayes - 6 - Total Nays - 0. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. Mr. Beigel moved that the Vehicle License rate be fixed at $3 until April 30, 1935, and at $5.00 per vehicle after May 1, 1935. The motion was seconded by Mr. Carlson and on call of the roll was unanimously carried. Mr. Carlson moved that the insurance carried on the police and firemen be renewed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Budlong and on call of the roll was unanimously carried. 3 A proposed ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS AND EXTENSIONS TO THE WATERWORKS SYSTEM OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, FRO - 'v VIDING FOR THE ISSUE OF $14,500 WATER REVENUE BONDS OF SAID VILLAGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF DE- FRAYING THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH IM - PROVEMENTS AND EXTENSIONS TO THE SAID WATER- , WORKS SYSTEM, PRESCRIBING ALL DETAILS OF SAID BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION, SEGRE- GATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE REVENUES OF THE WATERWORKS SYSTEM OF SAID VILLAGE FOR THE PUR- 'POSE OF "PAYING THE COST OF OPERATION AND MAIN- TENANCE THEREOF, PROVIDING AN ADEQUATE DEPRECIA- TION FUND THEREFOR AND PAYING THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON SAID WATER REVENUE BONDS ", was introduced by Trustee Carlson, read in full and taken up by the President and Board of Trustees and considered. It was moved by Trustee Carlson, seconded by Trustee Budiong that all rules of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, which might prevent, unless suspended, the passage and adoption of said proposed ordinance at this meeting, be and the same are hereby suspended for the purpose of permitting the passage and adoption of said ordinance at this meeting. The question being upon the adoption of said motion and the suspension of such rules, the roll was called with the following result: Mr. Beigel voting aye; Mr. Budiong voting aye; Mr. Carlson voting aye; Mr. Haas voting aye; Mr. Niebuhr voting aye; Mr. Wille voting aye. Total Ayes - 6 -- Total Nays - O. Thereupon the President declared such motion carried and such rules suspended. Thereupon Trustee Carlson moved that said ordinance be now placed upon its passage. The motion was seconded by Trustee Budiong. c The question being put upon the placing of said ordinance upon its passage, the roll was called with the following result: Mr. Beigel voting aye; Mr. Budlong voting aye; Mr. Carlson voting aye; Mr. Haas voting aye; Mr. Niebuhr voting aye; Mr. Wille voting aye. Total Ayes - 6 -- Total Nays 0. The President declared the motion carried. Trustee Carlson thereupon moved that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted as introduced and read. The motion was seconded by Mr. Budlong. The question being upon the final passage and adoption of said ordinance, the roll was called with the following result: Mr. Beigel voting aye; Mr. Budlong voting aye; Mr. Carlson voting aye; Mr. Haas voting aye; Mr. Niebuhr voting aye; Mr. Wille voting aye. Total Ayes - 6 -- Total Nays 0. The President thereupon declared 'the motion carried and the ordinance finally passed and adopted and then signed said ordi- nance in approval thereof and it became Ordinance No. Iv There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was moved by Trustee Carlson and seconded by Trustee Beigel that the meeting adjourn. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned. • . c
