HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/05/1933 VB minutes MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, held in the Village Hall on July 5th, 1933 at 8 O'clock P.M. President Meyn called the meeting to order, with Trustees Carlson, Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and Wills answering to roll gall. Moved by Trustee Gould, seconded by Trustee Carlson that minutes of meeting of Jube 6th be approved as read. Motion oarried by vote of acclamation. The C1Prk then presented the following Treasurer's report: GENERAL FUND Receipts Geo. Tatge fines 100.00 Ed. L. Busse business license 110000 Geo. Tatge fines 100.00 Total 310.00 Deficit last report 4855.48 Expenditures 1718.81, Water Ext. Prospect State Bank Int. To June 16, 1933 7.32 Balance 281.91 It was duly moved and seconded that Treasurer's report be placed on file. Motion carried by vote of acclamation. The Village Clerk then presented report on Special Assessments for month of June, 1933. Trustee Ganl moved that report be placed on file, Trustee Carlson seconded the motion and same carried by vote of acclamation. The following bills were presented for payment Chas Gerken, labor 8.00 W. C. Mulso, Salary !k garage rent 155.00 Geo. Whittenberg 140.00 Henry Schaeffer labor 109.00v Herman F. Meyn, labor and Material 30.55 Krohn Bros. labor 32.00N Excelsior Motor, Mfg & Supply Co. 4.50N O'Brien Ins Agency 255.29 The Union Paint & Varnish Co. 17.601 Cook County Herald 59.20+0 Trustee Carlson moved that the bills be paid, Trustee Niebuhr seconded the motion and same carried by the following roll call, Ayes, Carlson Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and.Wille. Nays none. The President declared the motion carried and directed that proper vouchers be drawn. Moved by Trustee Gip', seconded by Trustee Gould that matter of Potter & Gray be referred to Finance Committee for further report. Motion carried by vote of acclamation. Moved by Trustee Gaul, seconded by Trustee Wille that the following Public Service Permit be granted, same carried by vote of acclamation. Tap existing 2" H.P. gas main in parkway of Eastwood Ave to serve Mr. Harry M. Messner, 403 Eastwood Ave., No pavement opening required. It was moved by Trustee Carlson that Mr. Roderie4 be permitted to install a set of books for General Corp for proper accaunting for the sum of $125.00. This motion was seconded by Trustee Gould. The �t called the roll with the following results, Ayes, arlson, Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and Wille, Nays none. The President declared the motion carried. Trustee Gould moved that Supt. Of Water Dept. serve all delinquent water tax payers with 48 hour final notice. The motion was seconded by Trustee Wille and same carried by vote of acclamation. The Clerk then read the following communication: Village Board of Mount Prospect July 5, 1933 Mount Prospect, I11. Gentlemen: We beg to advise that under the provisions of the "Banking Act, 1933" which became a law June 16, 1933, the payment of interest on demand deposits is prohibited. In accordance with the foregoing, interest on your balances that are payable on demand will cease as of this date, Yours very truly, signed C. D. Busse, Cashier. Moved by Trustee Gaul, seconded by Trustee Niebuhr that meeting be adjourned until July 11, 1933, at 8 o'clock P.M. Motion carried.
