HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/05/1932 VB minutes • Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Village Board of The Village of Mount Prospect, held in the Village Board Rooms, July, 5th, 1932 at the Hour of 8:00 o'clock P. E. c The President called the meeting to order with Trustees Barcrolft, Budiong, Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and *ille answering to roll call. Trustee Gaul moved that the minutes of the meeting held June, 7th, 1932 be approved as read. Trustee Gould seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. The following report of the Village Treasurer was present'dto the Board at this time: - Receipts General Fund Cook County Treasurer (1929 Delinquent .17 0 " 1930 Delinquent 475.00. Prospect State Bank & 10.75 Balance 4405.63 C. D. Busse Treasurer Trustee Budlong moved that the Treasurer's report be placed on file. Trustee Wille seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. Trustee Gaul moved that the Treasurer's report of receipts and expendituresoon Special Assessment Dockets be placed on file. Trustee Gould seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. The Clerk then presented the following bills for payment: — Uptown Standard Oil Station .61,t\ Illinois Bell Telephone Co. 1.30 n, Henry Suffer 150.00^ Wolf Coal & Oil Company 4.99t. Herman. Mulao 5.00N John Kob 125.00P\ Railway Express Agency Chicago Northwestern Railway Co. .96 TrusteeeGould moved that the President and Village Clerk be authorized to issue the proper warrants, and that the bills be paid. Trustee Niebuhr seconded this motion and the roll was called with the following results; "Ayes* Trstees Barcroft, Budlong, Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and wide. None Toting "Nays" the President declared the motion carried and directed that the proper warrants be issued. Trustee Gould moved that acheck received for overpayment to the Public Service Company in the amount of $53.97 be deposited to the credit of the Water Department. Trustee Budlong seconded this motion and the same carried by of acclamation. Trustee Budlong moved that the matter of providing a local jail be refered to the Police Committee for investigation and a report. Alderman Gould seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. Trustee Gould moved that a permit be granted the V. F. 4 %'oat #1337 to run a carnival in the Village of Mount Prospect from July, llth to 16th, 1932, providing there was no objections from the property owners in the immediate vicinity of the carnival grounds. Trustee Niebuhr seconded this motion and the same carriedby vote of acclamation. Trustee Gould moved that the Judiciary Committee cumtrnicate with Consoer, Older and Guinlin regarding their letter of recent date refering to a retainers fee of $480.00 per year. Trustee Wille seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. First reading oft- /V2/5* AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING AND ASSESSMENT OF TAX±S FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, COMMENCING MAY, lst, 1932 AND ENDING APRIL, 30th, 1933. Trust** Gould moved that the o rdinance be passed as read, Trustee Budlong sI seconded this motion and the soli was called with the following result:- *Ayes" Trustees Barcroft, Budlong, Gaul,. Giogid, Niebhur and Wille. None voting "Kaye" the President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance passed as read. Trustee Gaul presented a resolution forbidding the Station to Lake bus Company permission to pass through the Village of Mount Prospect and to take on or leave off passengers within the Village. Following the presentation of the resolution Trustee Gaul moved its adoption. Trustee Niebuhr seconded the motion to adopt the resolution and the roll was called with the following result; "Ayes" Trustees Gaul, and Niebuhr. Mayes" Trustees Barcroft, Budlong, Gould and Wille, whereon the resident declared the motion as lost and the resolution as not adopAed. Trustee Budlong moved that the Village Clerk be authorized to answer the letter received from the Mount drospect Woman's Club relative to decorating and improving the CommunitynHall. Trustee Gould seconded this motion and the same carried by vote of acclamation. Trustee Barcroft moved that starting July lst, 1932 the salary of C Officer John Kob be increased to $150.00 * per month. Trustee Gaul seconded this motion and the roll was called with the following result; "Ayes" Trustees Barcroft, Budlong, Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and Ville. None voting "Kaye" the President declared the motion carried and directed that the salary of Officer Kob be increased accordingly. Trustee Niebuhr moved th the Village Clerk be authorised to send out. Zen (10) day final notices to all delinquent water consumers. Trustee Gould seconded this motion and the roll was called with the following results; "Ayes" Trustees Barcroft, Budlong, Gaul, Gould, Niebuhr and Wille. None voting "Kaye" the President declared the motion carried and directed that the proper notices be sent out. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time on motion of Trustee Gould, seconded by Trustee Barcroft and carried by vote of acclamation the Board adjourned. •
