RESOLUTION NO. 53-01
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2002 ACTION PLAN
INCLUDING TI-[E FISCAL YEAR 2002 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the %llage of Mount Prospect has prepared a F~ve-year Consolidated Plan, which includes
a Action Plan as well as an application for a Community Development Block Grant, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect as entenng 1ts twenty-fourth year as an entitlement
commumty under the federal Community Development Block Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, in the past twenty three years the Village has used ~ts Commumty Development Block
Grant enhtlement to ~mplement vinous projects to address the community development and housing
needs of low and moderate-income and elderly residents, to reduce and prevent the occurrence of
deterioration m the Village, to increase accessibility for the handicapped, and to address other community
needs an conformance wnh the objectives of the Community Development Block Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has allocated $468,000 for fiscal year 2002 from the U S
Department of Housing and Urban Development, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees has determined that the Action Plan and the use of CDBG
funds can be of benefit in prowding for resMent's health, safety and welfare and m meeting the
community and housing needs of ~ts c~tizens
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby approve
the attached Action Plan, which includes an allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds in
the amount of $468,000

Elderly/Community Services Program
Transitional Living Program and Resource Center
Pubhc Streethght Improvements
Homeless Shelter
Single Family Rehabilitation Loan Program
Neighborhood Sidewalk Ramp ADA Program

SECTION TWO The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby authorizes
the Village Manger to prepare and forward to the U S Department of Housing and Urban Development a
subnuss~on of Mount Prospect's 2002 Action Plan m accordance w~th federal gmdehnes Th~s Plan
includes an apphcat~on for FY 2002 federal Commumty Development Block Grant funds
SECTION THREE: Th~s Resolution shall be ~n full force and effect from, and after, ~ts passage and
approval m the manner prowded by law
