The meeting came to order, the olerk called the roll, Trustee Has was the only trustee responding present. • Owing to the lack of a quorum, meeting was adjourned to 8:00 o' cloak P.M., Wednesday, January 2nd, 1924. January 2nd, 1924. The President galled the meeting to order. The dierk called the roll, all trustees, eaoepting trustee Jahnoke, responding present. Minutes of the meetings of :Dwo tbir- 4tb, 1923 were read and same were, on motion duly made, seconded and parried, approved as read. Thereupon the olerk read the following letter. "DesPlaines, Ill., Deo. 17, '23. To the President and Members of The Mount Prospect Village board; Dear Sirs: I would like at this time to petition your honorable body for the privilege of maintaining a bus stand, for our buses, which with your consent we intend extending our present route from (Jefferson Park, I11. to DesPlaines, I11. along the North West Highway) on to Mount Prospeot, 111. and farther, as the public: demands this service. Respectfully Yours, Suburban Bus Line Co., Inc. E. A. Manuel, President." It was duly moved, seconded and carried that said petition be granted. Thereupon the clerk read the treasurer's report as follows, and same was, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, ordered placed on file. Thereupon the chairman of the Fire and dater Com- mittee reported that the Fire Department had reouested him to ask the Village Board to purchase a new siren, as the old siren had burned out and was not repairable, also to purchase a first -aid kit, one 20 ft. length of garden hose, with neoessary oonneotions, and nozzle, and rope with which to tie ladders on truck. It was duly moved by trustee Pohlmann, seconded by trustee Heide, that the chairman of the Fire and Water Committee and the Fire Department be authorized to purchase the above mentioned supplies for the Pire Department and that the village pay the sum of $100.00 towards the purchase of same. • ROLL CALL Ayes: Coach, Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried ayes five, nags none. Thereupon the clerk read an ordinance entitled, An ordinance vacating the alleys in block eight of Busse and Wille's Resubdivision in Mount Prospect, and blocks nineteen and twenty -one in Mount Prospect. It was duly moved by trustee Haas, seconded by trustee Heide, that said ordinance be passed. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gos Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion oarried ayes five, nays none. Thereupon the clerk read a letter from the Board of Local Improvements, submitting an ordinance for constructing and laying a oonneoted system of water main extensions and a letter from the president of the Board of Local Improvements, submitting an estimate of the coat for constructing and laying said oonnected system of water main extensions and an ordinance entitled,Asn ordinance for constructing and laying a connected system of water main extensions, together with all necessary appurtenances in Evergreen Avenue and other streets and avenues in the Pillage of Mount Prospeot, County of Cook and Mate of Illinois. It was duly moved by trustee Mecklenburg, seconded by trustee Haas, that said ordinance be passed. ROLL CALL Ayes: Goaob, Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried ayes five, nays none. Thereupon the clerk read an ordinance entitled, An ordinance to amend section 21 of an ordinance entitled, an ordinance defining misdemeanors and providing for the punishment thereof. E""' It was duly moved by trustee Haas, seconded by trustee Pohlmann, that said ordinance be passed. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosch, Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion oarried ayes five, nays none. Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Pohlmann, seconded by trustee Haas, that the President be authorised to sign and the Clerk to countersign and issue warrant in favor of Frank Gerken, for the sum of $110.00 for salary for the month of December, 1923, payable out of the salary fund. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gooch, Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried ayes five, nays none. Thereupon plat of subdivision of blocks 18, 21, 22 and 23 and lot A of block 19 of Busse's Eastern Addition to Mount Proapeot and dedication of Louis Street 66 ft. wide, from Evergreen Avenue to the Northwest Highway and dedioation of Milburn Street from the West line of block 19 and 21 to the East side of Edward Street 66 ft. wide and dedication of Milburn Street from Louis Street to George street 33 ft. wide, and dedioation Street Street In t treet from Milburn Str e to Lincoln Street, of George M , was presented. It was duly moved by trustee Gooch, seconded by trustee Pohlmann, that said plat be approved and the President and Clerk be authorised to sign same for the Pillage. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gooch, Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion parried ayes five, nays none. Thereupon it was moved by trustee Heide, seconded by trustee Mecklenburg, that the chairman of the Finance Committee be authorised to have ceiling in Fire Truok Room and Pump Room covered with plaster board. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosah, Haas, Heide, Meoklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried, ayes five, nays none. Thereupon it was moved, seconded and carried, that the clerk be directed to return $10.00 to Mr. Amos Landmeier, which amount he was holding pending satisfactory back fill of excavation made in Wills St. (:: Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Pohlmann, 1 I seconded by trustee Haas, that the Water Rates Collector be authorized to purchase 10 1. x " water meters from the Badger . Thereupon the clerk read the following appointment of members of the hoard of Appeals. "Mount Prospect, Ill., Jan 2, 1924. To the Honorable Members of the Board , of Trustees of the village of Mount Prospect: Gentlemen: By virtue of authority conferred upon me by C law, I hereby appoint the following as members of the Board of Appeals for the term set opposite their respective names and respectfully ask your concurrence therein.
