"Mount Prospect, I11., May 17th, 1923. Mr. Henry . Ehard, Village Clerk. Dear Sir: You are hereby directed to call a special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect for the purpose of considerinf - "an ordinance providing for the regulation and management of the water work system of the Village of Mount Prospect, and establishing rules and regulations for the govern- ment of water consumers and others, and regulating connections with said system and establishing • rates and charges and license fees for plumbers," - and to take up such other business which may come before thbmeeting. Said meeting to be held Tuesday.evening, May 22nd, 1923, at the usual time and place. Yours truly, (Signed) William Busse President." The Clerk called the roll, all trustees, excepting Trustee Heide, responding present. Thereupon the Board proceeded to consider • an ordinance providing for the regulation -and management of the water work system of the Village of Mount Prospect, and establishing rules and regulations for the govern- ment of water consumers and others, and regulating connections with said system and establishing rates and charges and license fees for plumbers, which had been read at the meeting of May 1st, 1923. It was duly moved by Trustee Haas, seconded by Trustee Jahnoke, that said ordinance be passed. ROLL CALL Ayes: Goseh, Haas, Jahnoke, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. % Nays: None. Motion carried - ayes five, nays none. Thereupon it was moved, seconded and carried that a committee of three be appointed to call upon residents and ascertain how many desire service pipes installed as soon as possible and to make investigation as to what arrange- ' ment could be made with a plumber who would take over the installing of corporation cock, curb cook, service pipes and shut off boxes, etc. taking over all work between water main and shut off box. The following were appointed. Pohlmann, Meoklenbur g. Haas. Thereupon application of the Public Service Co. as follows, was read and on motion duly made, seconded and carried, same was granted. "5 - 5 - 23. Village of Mt. Prospect. Application is hereby made by the Public Service Company of Northern Illinois to perform work as specified below. To install gas servicpipe at Ever- green and E. Maple St - Albert Mille. PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS (SIGNED) BY D. W. BURTON." Thereupon the President left the meeting as he had to catch a train for Springfield. Trustee Gosoh acted as chairman of the meeting. • Thereupon it was duly moved by Trustee Jahnoke, seconded by Trustee Haas,that 254 inch corporation cocks, 25 - inch curb Docks and 25 - 5 to 6 feet 1+ inch telescope shut off boxes, all of the Mueller type, be ordered from Henion & Hubel • at the following prices: inch corporation cock $1.62 each " curb " 2.84 " 5 to 6 ft. 1 inch shut off box 2.74 " Thereupon the following letter from R. F. Conway Co. was discussed. "May 21st, 1923. Village of Mt.Prospeot, Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Attention Mr. Ehard, Clerk Gentlemen:- As we are desirous of obtaining our water supply used in the construction of that portion of Northwest Highway performed at Mt. Prospect, we submit herewith our proposal for obtaining this water from the village, we to pay at the rate of .,, $25.00 per mile for such water supply, also to pay the wages for man operating your power plant during our operation. We will guarantee to make all neoessary repairs and replace any damage caused by negligence on the part of our operator, providing you furnish instructor at our expense, to instruct our operator in the proper handling of your eruipment, and that such expense will not exceed $20.00. The above proposal to oontinne until such time as you have completed your tower, and take over the entire operation of the water supply, at which time we will be glad to take up and make new arrangements for the rate of payment. Yours very truly, R. F. CONWAY COMPANY, By A. 3. OLSEN." It was duly moved by Trustee Pohlmann, seconded by Trustee Haas, that offer of Conway Co. for the purchase of water be accepted, with the exception that the Pillage be paid *100.00 per mile instead of *25.00 per mile. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosch, Haas, Jahnoke, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried - ayes five, nays none. Thereupon letter from the State Highway Department °allin g the Board's attention to cracks in pavement and State d fill and repair that the fate wool air same at p cost for the Pillage when their maintenance gang was working in the neighborhood, if the Village so desired, was read by the Clerk. It was duly moved by Trustee Pohlmann, seeonded by Trustee Jahnoke, that the Clerk be directed to write to the State Highway Department asking them to make the repairs to pavement as above outlined. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gooch, Haas, Jahncke, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried - ayes five, nays none. Thereupon it was duly moved by Trustee Haas, second- ed by Trustee Pohlmann, that the Clerk and Pillage Attorney be authorized and directed to have Special Assessment Bonds printed. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gooch, Haas, Jahnoke, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried - ayes five, nays none. On motion, meeting adjourned. Minutes Approved this cS°` day of Jane, 1923.
