HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/01/1922 VB minutes August 1st, 1922 The president palled the meeting tc order. The Clerk called the roll all trustees excepting trustee Gosch and Mecklenpurg responding present. Minutes of the meeting of July 4, 5, and 17 were read and same were on motion duly made, seconded and carried approved as read. The treasurers report as follows was read and same was on motion duly made, seconded and oarried ordered placed in file. Thereupon the clerk read the bill from the Consoer Engineering Co. for A.ans and speoifieations for village water works and supervision of contrast of well for 4400.00 It was duly moved by trustee Jahncke seconded by trustee Haas that the sum of 4200.00 be paid on aocount and that the clerk be direct- ed to issue warrants for same. Roll Call Ayes: Clausing, Haas, Heide, Jahncke. Nays: None. Motion carried ayes 4, nays none. Thereupon trustee Jahncke reported that Mr. Geisen, the ice man had informed him that he could not afford to pay in excess of 45.00 per year for license for Ice dealer. It was duly moved by trustee Jahnoke, seccndec by trustee Heide that the clerk be authorized to accept 0.00 as license fee for Ice dealer for the season of 1922 Roll Call Ayes: Clausing, Haas, Heide, Jahncke. Nays: None. Mot ion carried ayes 4, nays none. Thereupon trustee Heide stated that the Forest Glen Creamery Co. had requested him to ask the Village Board to purchase sufficient tile for them to connect their drain tile with the tile in School Street. It was duly moved by trustee Jahncke, seconded by trustee Haas that the village purchase approximately 300 feet of 5 inch tile. Said tile to b e laid in street at proper depth by the Forest Glen Creamery Company to connect their drain tile with the tile in School Street with- outany expense to the Village for laying same. Roll Call • Ayes: Clausing, Haas, Heide, Jahncke. Nays: None. Motion carried, ayes 4, nays none. Thereupon the clerk read the following applications: "We hereby make application for permission to build a 5 foot cement sidewalk on the North side of Busse Ave. from the end of the present cement sidewalk in front of the bank to cement sidewalk on the last side cf Elm Street." "Vue hereby make application for permission to build a b foot cement sidewalk on Maple Street Block 5 Lot 11, 10 and 9.12 139 feet . Signed. Henry W. Busse, Mrs. Martha Fr.oemling." It was duly moved by trustee Jahncke, seconded by trustee Haas that said permission be granted, said sidewalk to be laid at such a grade that the President would designate and that the Village install aprons at the corners waere necessary at the rate of 85 cents per lineal foot of 5 foot sidewalk. Roll Call .ayes: Clausing, Haas, Heide, Jahncke. Nays: Motion carried ayes 4, nays none. Thereupon the clerk read the following applications of `ailliam Busse, Jr. "I hereby make gplication for permission to dig up Busse Ave. and main Street ". It was duly moved, sec ndea and carried that said permit be granted. Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Haas, seconded by trustee Jahncke that the Village attorney be directed to prepare an ordinance providing for the appointment of a Board cf Health. Roll Call Ayes: Clausing, Haas Heide, Jahncke. Nays: None. +notion carried ayes 4, nays none. Thereupon attorney Hugo yhal informed the meeting that he had discussed the installing of a crossing at Main St over the right way of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Co. and th installation of gated at Emerson and Main Streets with the officials of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Co: stating that said officials objected to the installationof a crossinE at Main Street and erecting and main- ("' taining of gates at the above mentioned crossing, but offered to in- stall a crossing at Main Street if the exsistin; crossing at Elmhurst Street would be abandoned they considered same would be a very dan- gerous crossing after the completion of the pavement on the Northwest Highway and that they would install mechanical flagment at Emerson and Main Street crossings. I -- It was duly moved by trustee Maas, seconded by trustee Jahncke that the attorney be authorized to negotiate further the opening of Main Street crossing, if possible retainin Elmhurst crossing and if not possible that to abandon Elmhurst crossing; one. Condition that the Rail- way Co. dedicate 'main Street crossing and install automatic signal on Main Street and Emerson Street, Roll Call Ayes: Haas, Heide, Jahncke, President Busse. Nays: Clausing. Motion carried ayes 4, nays one. Thereupon on ordinance for c.nstructing.and laying a connected system of water mains, together with all necessary appurtenances, in Evergreen Avenue and other Streets and Avenues in t:::e Village of Mount Prospect, Cock County, Illinois said ordinance having: been submitted . by the Board of Local Improvements with an estimate of the probable cost of the improvement signed by 'W Jilliam Busse, 2resident cf the Board of Local Improvement attached thereto, wasread.
