Lamb Distriot Engineer calling attention to the fact that cracks in concrete pavement on Central Street needed filling. It was dgly moved by trustee Jahnoke, seconded by trustee Heide that the clerks be directed to write to the he State ask- ing them to fill these oraoks and to bill the village for same. Roll Call. • Ayes : - alausing, Gosch, Haas, Heide, Jahnoke, Mecklenburg. Nays; 4 None. Motion oarried ayes six, nays none. Thereupon bond of henry J. Ehard for the sum of *500,00 with Albert E. tussle and Ernst as sureties was presented.. It was dull moved seconded, and carried that said bond be approved. Thereupon the clerk reported that he had received a sealed bid for a site for water works just before the meeting came to order. It was duly moved seconded and oarried that said bid be opened.. The following was the bid for a site for water works sub - mittei, "Bid for Water Works, Lots Twenty -one (21) Twenty -two (22) in block five (5) $800.00 Eight Hundred Dollars. Signed Alvine Ka z. Thereupon trustee Jahncke reported that Mr. Edward Busse had authorized him to inform tba*.Board that he would offer Lot G. in Block 10 in Buaae 8c Wille' s reaubdiviaion for the sum of $1400.00 instead of $1600.00 as originally offerred and that he would aooept $400.00 oaeh and balance by a note of $1000.00 payable at borne future date. Thereupon it was moved by trustee Haas, seconded by trustee Heide that Mr. Edward Busse's offer of $1400.00 for lot0. in Block 10 in Buase8$ and Wille's Resubdivision for a gite for water works be accepted. Thereupon it was duly moved, seconded, and carried that consideration of site for Water Works be postponed to the next meeting. Thereupon the clerk reported that he had received three sealed bids for drilling well up to 8 :00 P. M. and one had been received at 8:45 P. M. It was duly moved seoonded and carried that bid received at 8 :45 be accepted. It was duly moved , seconded, and carried that bids for drilling well be opened. The following is a list of the proposals received for drilling well: Bid of Linooln Pettis received 8:45 P. M. Deerfield, I11. April 24, 1922. Board of Trustees, Mt. Prospect, I11. Gentlemen, The following is a bid for the drilling of a well at Mi. Prospect, Illinois. The location to be designated by Board of Trustees:- Will use 12" Genuine wrought iron pipe .330 in, thick, furnish all machinery, tools, labor, *to., and guarantee the said Village that there will be no further charge for the drilling of said well than the price per foot. I also assume all respoaibility for aooident that may happen to machinery, tolls, labor eta., while well is being drilled, I also agree to furnish a test pump, and test this well, as to the amount of water it will produce, any time that the Board may wish it tented. The pride for this work to be paid for by the hour, counting all time of putting in and taking out pump. It is also understood that I will discontinue drilling at any depth the Board may designate, and the Board agrees to pay for not less than 75 ft. should they have me discontinue drill- ing before the depth is reached. It is also agreed that this well shall not exceed the depth cf 200 ft. unless by special agreement between the Village Board and the 0 ontrasta r. (:2 It is further agreed that the Contractor shall start getting material and tools upon the grounds within 10 days after the signing of this agreement, and push the work to completion as soon as possible. This oontraot is subject to all unavoidable delays not under our oontrol. Prioe for drilling well as per stated above . . 012.00 per ft. It was moved seconded and carried that deposit checks of unsuoeeasful bidders be returned. Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Mecklenburg, seconded by trustee Clauaing that the clerk be authorized to hire sten- ographer help not to exceed $60.00 for the ensueing fiscal year. Roll Call.
