It was duly moved, seconded, and carried that Trustee Gosoh act as chairman in the absence of the president who was prevented from being present due to illness. Minutes of the meetings of March 7th, March 1, and March 25th were read and same were on motion duly made seconded and carried approved as read. The treasurer's report as follows as read and on motion duly made seconded and oarried accepted and ordered on file. TREASURER'S REPORT. Thereupon the chairman of the Health and Drainage Committee submitted the following bids for laying 800 tiles along School Street for the purpose of draining slough S. Thereupon the clerk read an applioation of Mr. Henry Clausing for permissicT to dig up Emerson St. from lot line of Lot 11 in Walter Krause s addition to Mount Prospeot to tile in said Emerson Street. It was duly moved, seconded, and carried that said permission be granted. Thereupon it was duly moved by Trustee Holste, Beclouded. by Trustee Meoklenburg that the Health and Drainage Committee be authorized to install a stone well on east side of Emerson St. neer the Desks residenoe and oonneot same with tile in Emerson St. for the purpose of draining surface water from the street. Thereupon it was duly moved by Trustee Heide, seconded by Trustee Holste, that the Street and Sidewalk Committee be author- ized and direoted to have a crossing installed across Emerson St. south of Melvin St. ROLL CALL. Thereupon the clerk read the following oontraot submitted by the Consoer Engineering Company. State of Illinois County of Cook Village of Mount Prospect. Contract Form G. CONTRACT FOR MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING SERVICES. KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: (7 This agreement made and signed this 4th day of April 1922 at Mount Prospeot, Illinois, by and between the Village of Mount Prospeot Illinois.^, a municipal corporation, represented by the honorable President of the Board of Trustees of said Village of Mount Prospeot, by authority of and acting for said Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, party of the firat part, and hereinafter referred to as the "Village" and. the Consoer Engineering Company, an Illinois corporation party of the second part, and hereinafter referred to as the "Engineers ". Whereas said Village desires to employ the services of skilled engineers for the purpose of making surveys and engineering Studies, preparing plans and detailed specifications, estimates, proposal forms, advertisements, instructions to bidders, oontracta, and to act as supervising engineers on the oonstruotion of a water works and water p.istributton system, and to assist the village attorney in the preparation of resolutions, ordinances, and other apeoial assessment documents but not inoluding the work of spreading assessments and preparing assessment rolls for said improvements. AND WHEREAS the Engineers repreaent themselves to be skilled engineers who have been engaged in, understand, and now do such work and are fully qualified, ready, and willing to perform the work above enumerated now. THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSETH: 1st. The engineers, for and in consideration of sertain payments as hereinafter specified, agree to do at their own proper post and expense a11.of the engineering work as above enumerated to the entire satisfaotion of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Local Improvements of the Village of Mount Prospect. 2nd, The Engineers agree to begin work on or before the 4th day of April, 1922, and to prosecute the work diligently. 3rd. The Engineers agree to make all necessary field and laboratory testa of tho oonstruotion materials. 4th. The Engineers agree that an offioer of the Consoer Engineering Company shall visit the work under construction as often as is necessary for the proper exeoution of the work, and whenever requested so to do by the Board of Local Improvements, and it is further agreed that the services of Mr. Clifford Older, President of the Consoer Engineering Company shall be available in a consulting capacity whenever desired at any phase of the special assessment proceedings or oonstruotion work without additional oharge for anoh services. 5th. The improvements for which engineering services areto be furnished. under the terms of this oontraot shall be designated by suitable motions or resolutions at regular or properly sailed apeoial meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village. 6th The Village agrees to employ on the oonstruotion work such inspeotors as will be required to insure proper construction and said inspectors shall be acceptable to and responsible to the Engineers for the proper execution of the work. In oonsideration of the true and fill performance of the work covered in this contract by the Engineers the Village agrees to pay totttke Engineers a fee of five (5) per eentum of the total cost of the construction of said improvements, 4500 payable after completion of the plans, estimates, and specifications, and the balance payable after and contingent upon the award of contracts for said improvements. 8th. It is further agreed that the Engineers shall leave with the Village Clerk of said Village full and oomplete blueprints, filesand records of all work done by them for the Village. 9th. Should the Village , at any time previous to the final completion of the work be dissatisfied with the services rendered by the 3ngi*e*re this contrast may be terminated by giving one week's notice in writing to the Engineers and upon payment for the Engineering Services previously rendered. Should the Village Board consider the bill for any suoh terminated services unfair, the matter of proper compensation shall be submitted to a board of arbitration of three members oonsisting of one chosen by the Village, one chosen by the Engineers, and a third member ohosen by the two already chosen. giny decision of the arbitration board shall be binding upon both partied to this agreement. c IN WITNESS WHEREOF THE PARTIES OF THIS AGREEMENT HAVE SET HERETO THEIR HANDS AND SEALS Dated the day and year first herein written VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT? Thereupon it was duly moved, seconded and carried that sealed bids on Bonds and site for water works be opened. The fallowing proposals for a site were submitted. "To the Village Board, Mt. Prospect, I offer as site for water -works lots 11 & 12 50ft. by 167ft each in block one in Ernst Busse's Subdivision for the sum of eight hundred dollars (800) Signed Enlist Gosch. To the Honorable, The President and members of the Board of Trustees of the Village Of Mtn Proppeot. Gentlemen, 1 the undersigned hereby offer to the Village of Mt. Prospeot Lot C. in Blook 10 (ten) in Busse & Wille's Resubd. in Mt, prospect as a site on which to locate the proposed pumping station and water supply Tank off said village for the sum of 41,600.00 3aia lot has an area of 10,470 square feet. Respectfully submitted Signed Edward Busse. It was duly moved seconded and carried that said proposals be taken under adWisement for future action. The following sealed bid for water works bonds was the only bid reoeived. To the Honorable the President and members of the Board of TruAoteeil of the Village of Mount Prospect. Gentlemen, We the undersigned hereby offer the sum of 10000.00 for ten (10) , five hundred dollar water -works bonds of the Village of Mount Prospect dated April lst, 1922 said bonds to mature $1000.00 April 1, 1923, April 1, 1924, April 1, 1925 April 1, 1926, April 1, 1927.
