Minutes of a special meeting of the President and members of the Village Board held in pursuance of the following order of the President, "Mr. Henry J. Ehard: Village Clerk: (: J , Dear Sir: � You are hereby directed to calla special meeting of the President and members of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to convene Thursday evening Sept, 4, I9I9 at the usual time and place to take up such business as may come before the meeting. Yours very truly, signed William Busse Village President. upon which order the clerk mailed the clerk mailed the following notice to all the trustees. "Dear Sir: Please take notice that a special meeting of the President and members of the Village Board of this. Village will take place next Thurs- day evening, Sept. 4, I9I9, at the usual time and place to take up such business as may come before the meeting. By order of the President. Yours very truly, Signed Henry J. Ehard Village Clerk " The President called the meeting to order. The Clerk called the roll all trustees responding present. The minutes of the meeting of Aug. 5 and I2th I919 were read and same were on motion duly made seconded and carried accepted as read. The Treasurer's report as follows was read and ordered placed on file. General Fund. Balance on hand "Aug, 5th I919 $535.34 Received from Henry J. Ehard 79,18 IT n n n n 62.49 Total $677.01 - Expenditures I16.23 Balance on hand $560.-78 Vehicle License Fund. On Hand .Aug. 5th. 1919 0181.70 Rec'd. From Henry J. Ehard 81.68 n TT IT TT 13.34 11 If IT IT IT 29.17 Balance on hand $305.89 Thereupon the clerk read the following bills said bills having been O.Ked by the proper committees. The Legal Adviser Publ. Co. 4 .25 Northwestern Light & Power Co. Aug. Stret Lg. 44I.-67 Total - $41.-92 It was duly moved by trustee Haberkamp seconded by trustee Holste ( said bills be paid and the clerk be directed to issue warrants for same. Roll Call. Beigel aye Gosoh aye Holste aye Busse ate Haberkamp aye Pohlmann aye. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. Thereupon the olerk read a list of names of those who had failed to apply for business or vehicle license. It was duly moved by trustee pohlmann, seconded by trustee Busse that that the clerk be directed to prepare bills for those delinquent in paying for their license, and deliver same to the chairman of the finance committee he to transmit same to the village police for collection, and that the village police be compensated for service thus rendered. Thereupon the clerk read a communication 'from the Country Municipalities of Cook County regardizig the defence to application of the Chicago Telephone Co. pending before the Public utilities Comm. Case No. 9292, for increase in 'rates through out the company's entire district, set for hearing Sept. I2 The following resolution was thereupon read by the clerk. be it resolved that the proper officers be and they are hereby authorized to draw a warrant on the Judiciary Fund, for the sum of ten dollars, payable to the State Bank of Chicago, to be part of a fund for the defence of proceeding No. 929I, Illinois Public Utilities Commission increase of rates of Chicago Telephone Company, said fund to be disbursed upon written vouchers to be signed by majority of the members of the Finance Committee consisting of C. J. Wolf, (Melrose Park), Henry W Tolsted, (Maywood), Elmer E. Jackson, (Kenilworth), William F. Propper, (Dolton), Charles Krempp, (Morton Grove), and Ralph L. Peck,(Palatine). Be it futher resolved that we hereby authorize the transferof funds heretofore contributed by this municipality, if any, in Public Utilities proceedings Nos. 7253/ 8672, and 8686, to the new fund to be created pur- scant to this resolution. It was duly moved by trustee Haberkamp seconded by trustee Pohlmann . that said resolution be adopted Roll Call. Beigel aye Gosch , aye Holste aye Busse aye Haberkamp aye Pohlmann aye. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. The President stated that he had received a - letter from the President of the Villtige of Arlington Heights inviting the President and the Village board of Mount Prospect to attend the Home Coming Service at Arlington Heights, to be held Sept. 6th, I919. Thereupon ordinanoe lioening retailers of soft drinks and near beer, introduced at the meeting of Aug. I2, was read by the clerk and action on same was deferred to some future date. Thereupon the lowering of of Main St.,so as to be level with grade to which Central St. was being lowered to by the state who were paving Central St. said lowering of Central St. being done so that grade of pave- ment of Central St. would conform with grade of sidewalks, was discussed. The President Thereupon informed the meeting that there was a desire amongst the property owners along Main St. to pave Main St. from Prospect Ave. to Central St., providing they could'obtain sufficient money from the•property owners along said Main St. to pay for said paving, it being estimated that it would cost in the neighborhood of 0200,00 to grade `', and pave said Main St. It was duly moved by Trustee Haberkamp, seconded by trustee Gosch, that, in the event the property owners should decide to pave Main St. the Village pay for 25% of the cost of grading and laying of an I8 ft. pavement along said Main 3t., it being estimated that it would cost the village that much money to put Main St. in condition to stand the traffic it is subjected to.
