HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/04/1939 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR METING 167 OF THE PRE S IDE,NT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MT PROSPECT ILLINOIS HELD ON THE FOURTH DAY OF APRIL 1939. AT THE VILLAGE HALL. President Besander called the meeting to order and upon the clerk calling the roll the following trustees were found to be present: Trustees, Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, Hennix and Wille. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on a t motion made by Trustee Hennix and a second by Trustee Harrington. The following report of the treasurer was approved on a motion made by Trustee Haberkamp and second of Trustee Greinke. It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Mille that the Special Assessment report be place:+. on file. The Motion was carried. A motion was made by Trustee Haas and seconder by Trustee Hay,* that the following bills be paid. The vote on said motion was as follows Ayess Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, Hennix and Wille. No Nays. motion was made by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee HarrintOon that the Mt Prospect State Bank and the First National Bank of Chicago be designated as depositories for the funds of the village. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, "ennix .d Wille. No nays. It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Wille that the petetion from the property owners regarding pasturized milk be placed on file. Motion was carried. A pet &tion was read to the board from property owners requesting that speed limits be set on certain streets, after which Trustee Harrington made the follwing motion which was seconded be Trustee Wille, that the speed limit be cut to 10 miles per hour on WaPella between Milburn and Linclon Streets and 15 miles per hour past the miskmmil schools. The vote on said motthon was as follows Ayes Greinke, Harrington, Hennix and Ville. Nays Haas and Haberkamp. The president declared the motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Haas that a petition from various property owners to permit a coal yarrt on the C. &. N. W. Ry. property on the Highway be read and placed on file. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, Hennix and Wille. No nays. A motion was made by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee Mille that a petition from Laudermilk :Subdivision to reduce the building mxiimrestrictions from $8000.00 to 6000.00 be placed on file. The motion was carried with a vote of acclamation. A petition fxmmfor installation of streets acceptable to the Federal Housing Administration for Loan purposes in Laudermilk Villa subdivision aws read and placed on file on a motion made by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Greinke. The vote on said motion was as follows Ayess Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, Hennix and Wille. No nays. Itxwas moved by Trustee Hennix and seconde by Trustee Haberkamp to accept the contract from Milburn Brothers dated Feb. llth, 1939 for paving Albert, George and Evergreen Streets and Busse Avenue as proposed and corrected, also subject to the property owners having paid in full all monies agreed upon and that the President and Clerk be authorized to sign necessary papers in behalf of the Village. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, aennix and Wille. No nays. A motion was made by Trustee Harrington and seconded by Trustee 'Ville to defer the matter of a street light on Evergreen and pine streets to the proper committee with fall power to act. The motion -A. was carried with the following vote Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Harrington, n ennix and 'Ville. No nays. It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Haas to buy a motorcycle from Macke Motorcycle Shop as per his bid in the amo8nt of $395.00. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayess Greinke, Haas, Haber atop, Harrington, Hennix and Wille. No nays. A motion was made by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee Wille to adjourn the meeting to April 18th to canvass the votes of the election to be held on that date. The motion was carried. '"'
