MINUTES OF A REGULAR MONTHLY
MEETING HELD IN THE VILLAGE
HALL AT MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES ON THE THIRD DAY OF
FEBRUARY; A. D. 1942
Upon the absence of the Village Clerk, President Besander appointed Fred G.
Wille to act as temporary Clerk.
The meeting was called to order by President Besander. The roll being called
the following Trustees were found to be present: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp,
Lemay and Wille. Trustee Mortimer being absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and it was moved by Trustee

Greinke and seconded by Trustee Wille that they be accepted as read. Motion
carried.

It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp seconded by Trustee Mille that the bills be

It was moved by Trustee Mille and seconded by Trustee LeMay that the President's
appointment be concurred in with the stipulation that his compensation be
established at $130.00 per month. Ayes: Greinke, Baas, haberkamp,.LeMay and
Mille. No nays.

A motion was made by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee LeMay that
the following resolution be passed and the Village Clerk notify the Chicago
and North Western Railroad of
such resolution*
"A resolution objecting to the increase in commuters rates,
because traffic will now be heavier due to tire rationing
on Automobiles.* -
Ayes: Greinke,. Haas, Haberkamp, LeMay, and Mille. No nays.

It was moved by Trustee l aberkamp, seconded by Trustee Greinke, that the
Mount Prospect State Bank and the First National Bank of Chicago, continue
as depositories for the ft/Ids of FredgG. s ille Village Treasurer and Collecor.
Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp LeMay and Ville. No nays.
It was moved by, Trustee LeMay, seconded by Trustee Haas, that the following
resolution beapproved.
VHEREAS..The Superintendent of Highways, of and for Cook County,
Illinois, has submitted plans for the improvement of a highway
known as Mount Prospect Road, lying, partially within the Corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS,,.The improvement of said highway serves the public con-
:
venience-and necessity;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVBD By_the Board of Trustees of the Village
Of Mount Prospect,.that the said plans be, and they are hereby,
approved; that the County be, and is hereby, authorized
and empowered to proceed with the work of construction in accor-
dance with said plans.
OPT BE IT FURTHER RESOLVBD,,.,.Zhat the County of Cook be, and is hereby,
CrD relieved and discharged of any and all liability for any and all
W damages, tp property and, for any and all damage done to or sustained
by the pavement within the Village by reason of the detouring of
traffic or the hauling_of material, or from any other cause in-
. cident to the improvement of the highwer fors itdd l
APPROVED and passed by the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect at its regular meeting, held on the Third day of
February, 1942, at Mount Prospect, Illinois.

Ayers Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, LeMay_ and Wille. No nays.
Mr. P. N. Collins inquired as to the action taken, by the Village Board,
of his request for a street light at the corner of Fairview and Henry
Street. This was feferred to the Chairman of Police and Light for
further investigation and to submit his report at the next regular
meeting.
Mr. Stoelk of 418 N. *ills Street informed the Village Board that Ville
Street was not improved, pertaining to Curb and Gutter, as per agreement
in his contract with the subdivider, and, asked that The Village demand
the improvement, In as much as the agreement was made between the property
owner and the subdivider, Mr, Stoelk was orraly informed that the matter
rests between the property, owner and the subdivider.
Mr, Edward Zinkel reported the fact, that compensation payments, for injuries
received on an accident on July 16, 1941, while employed by the Village, had
been terminated. Mr. Zinkel stating.. that he felt his injuries had not im-
proved *nogg to resume work, President Besander volunteered to investigate
the case with the insurance represenative, Mr. H. 6 . Carlson.
Mr, J. J. Walsh, during the course of the meeting, made inquiries as
follows:
1. He questioned the laxity of the publicity inour local paper, as
to actions taken and progress made, pertaining,. to Village affairs, at our
regular meetings, On this matter the Board expressed their feeling, orally,
sanctioning the publishing of happenings at our regular Board meetings.

2. The Board to investigate the necessity of Public Alleye, in our
biisinessAistricts, to avoid the use of private driveways for Public Alleys.
This was referred to the Chairman of Street and Sidewalks for investigation.
3. The progress made on the sidewalk, as petioned by property owners, on
NUrthwest Highway between Elm and Owen Street. Trustee LsMay, reported, that at
the last regular meeting, the owners of the property e*pressed their willingness,
in writing, of constructing a crush stone walk of 2 inches in thickness, subject
to the approval of the Board. The Board felt that 2 inches of crush stone was
not sufficient and that a walk of 4 inches in thickness would be required.
There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by
Trustee Wille, seconded by Trustee Greinke that the same be adjourned.
