HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/08/1942 VB minutes 3'25 MINUTES OF E REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL AT MT.PROSPECT ILLINOIS BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF _ TRUSTEES ON THE FIRST DAY OF SEPTEMBER A.D. 1942. There was no regular meeting, held at this date however the following Trustees were at the Village Hall: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Wille Mortimer. The meeting was recessed until Tuesday September 8th. rift MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF SE'P'TEMBER FIRST HELD IN THE VILLAGE 1141174T"1 'y PBO SPECT ILLINOIS BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON THE EIGHT DAY OF SEPTEMBER A.D. 1942. President Besander called the meeting to order. The roll being called the following Trustees were found to be present: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, LeMay, Mortimer, Wille. The minut"s of the previous meeting were read and it was moved by Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee Greinke that they be accepted as read. Motion carried. A letter from the Lake Shore Sugar Co., under date of Aug.3lst, was read in regards to the fee imposed for loading Sugar Beets. Mr. Haberkamp moved that the Board rescind the motion regarding the fee, the.Boatd agreed to do so. Trustee Mortimer suggested that a fee of $ 5.00 be imposed as a service charge to clean up streets after them, and on the Motion of Trustee Haberkamp, and seconded by Trustee Greinke the motion was carried. Nayes: None Motion carried. • 328 A letter from the Department of Highways was read for the addoption of the following resolution: WEAREAS,Lincoln Avenue from Elmhurst Road to the West limits of the Village has been designated by the Board of County Commissioners of Cook County as an extension of a State Aid Road, and WHEREAS dt is the desire of this Board that the County assume the maintenance of that Street, - THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County ""s Commissioners of Cook County be and is hereby petitioned to assume such maintenance, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That three certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted - to the Superitendent of Highways of Cook County. A motion made by Trustee Wille, seconded by Trustee LeMay that the above resolution be accepted: Ayes: Greinke , Haas, Haberkamp,LeMay,Mortimer,Wille. Hayes: None Motion carried. A letter from 1337 Veteran's Club expressing their appreciation for the permit of using the Village Square for their carnival was read and placed on file. A motion made by Trustee Greinke, seconded by Trustee Wille, to have all the fire hydrants checked and painted. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp,LeMay,Mortimer,Wille. Nayes None: Motion carried. Due to the fact that the Federal,State, and County Funds are available for Health facilities, it was suggested that the w., Local Health Board be replaced by the County Board, and that a Committe call on Dr. Granzig and the Nurses personally to express their appreciation for their services rendered up to date. This suggestion was put into a motion by Trustee Haberkamp, seconded by Trustee Mortimer. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp,LeMay,Mortimer,Wille. Nayes: None Motion carried. In the above mentioned Pr. Piszek was appointed as Village Health Officer. A letter was read from Mr. James Walsh suggesting two meetings a month. This letter was received with a great deal of enthusiam from many members of the Board and same was placed on file. A letter under date of August 21st, from The Department of Public Works and Building, Division of Highways was read stating that the Resolution for Section 2 -C.S. adopted by the Board of Trustees July 7th, was approved on same date as the letter was sent. A motion made by Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee Haas, that Mr. Roderick be authorized to bring the audit up to date. • Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp,LeMay,Mortimer,Wille. Nayes None. Motion carried. A letter under date of September 4th, from Consoer,Townsend Quinlan was read. This letter was in the nature of a report on the progress of preparation of plans for modernization of traffic signals at the intersection of Main Street and Northwest Highway with an invitation to meet with the Board to discuss this matter fully. Same was placed on file. A motion made by Trustee Wille, seconded by Trustee Greinke that this meeting be temporary adjourned and resumed on Tuesday September 22nd. Motion carried.
