Lincoln as follows: March 8, 1960 sidewalk on Members of Board of Trustees iW. Lincoln Mt. Prospect, Illinois Gentlemen: It has recently been brought to our attention that a group of our neighbors are planning to attend a board meeting on March 8, 1960 his date to express their views on the planned installation of sidewalks on the so~th side of Lincol~ Avenue between We Go and the bridge over Weller Creek. Since it will be impossible for us to attend this meeting we are submitting this letter to advise the Vil~ge Board of our opinion in this matter. We believe that the problem of sidewalks on Lincoln Avenue should be combined with the~ proposed widening of the street (from two %o four lanes) so that the entire problem could be settled at one time. We are against any widening of the street but would agree to the installation of curbs on the present two lanes. We have recently signed a petition agreeing to the installation of sidewalks closer to the street than the village ordinances permit. This was with the understanding that the street would remain two lanes. However, if the street is to be widened to four lames and %he two extra lanes are installed on the north side of Lincoln we are against any such plans. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Joseph The Board assured the Joeephs that there were no plans this year for widening Lincoln Avenue. Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Norris, moved for adjournment, and the meeting was regularly adjourned at 9:B2 P.M. by accl~=~tinn. Respectfully submitted, March 8, 1960
