HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/05/1946 VB minutes 94 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLI"OIS, ON THE 5TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1946 A.D. The meeting was called to order by the President at 8:10 P.M., and upon calling the roll. the following Trustees responded: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax, and Welsh. Trustee Lams was absent. Minutes of the postponed regular meeting of January 8th were read. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the minutes be accepted as read. Motion carried. - The following Treasurer's report was then read: GENERAL CORPORATE FUND . Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. • A motion was made;by.;Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott that thb Village pay Consoer, Townsend and Associates $500.09 or engineering ser- vices for supervising and inspecting construction of the new Pine Street well, well pump.unit, and pump house. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the revised list of bills be approved for payment. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. 49 6 A motion was made by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Wax that the special assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $130.0 OF MOTOR FUEL TAX FUNDS FOR TEE MAINTENANCE OF HIGHWAY LIGHTS NO. 4 -46, was then read. It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the resolution be adopted. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. The Clerk read: A RESOLUTION TO FORECLOSE THE LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESS- MENTS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, NO. 5 It was moved by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Hartwig, that the resolution be adopted. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. Trustee Welsh read a report from the Planning Commission in regard to a proposed subdivision of Town and Country Estates Addition, and recommend- ed that no action be taken until an official plat is submitted for approval. The Clerk read: A RESOLUTION TO FORECLOSE THE LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESS. MENTS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, NO. 6 -46. It was moved by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Wax that the resolution be adopted. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. The Clerk read: A RESOLUTION TO FORECLOSE THE LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESS- MENTS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, NO. 7 -46. A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the-resolution be adopted. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. An ordinance amending Section 6 of Ordinance No. 164 was referred back to the Judiciary Committee for revision. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the plat of Smith & Dawson's Seventh Addition to Country Club Acres, Pros- pect Heights, Ill. be approved as recommended by the Planning Commission. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Welsh, that the plat of "Wedgewood Terrace" be approved subject to exceptions as noted in the letter from the Planning Commission, dated Feb. 4, 1946. . Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. Not-ayes. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott that in accordance with the amended water ordinance, the $5.00 deposit be refunded to the following citizens: H. Goehring W. J. Mahaffy R. Stoelk F. C. Sturgis H. J. Wilson Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Welsh that the,Mount Prospect State Bank and the First Nation Lankrof Chicago continue as depositories for the funds of Fred G. Willa, Village Treasurer and Col- lector. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. It was brought to the attention of the Board that large electric signs had been installed on the radio towers located at Prospect and Central Roads. After discussion, President Pendleton referred the matter to the Judiciary Committee for investigation regarding the Zenith Radio Company's failure to comply with Village ordinances. r" There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Wqx that the meeting be ad -_- journed.
