HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/02/1946 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL, MT. PROSPECT; ILLINOIS, ON THE 2ND DAY OF APRIL, 1946 A.D. There being no quorum present, a general discussion of Village business matters was held until 10:00 o'clock at which time President Pendleton called the meeting to order. The roll being called the following Trustees responded: Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. Trustees Hartwig and Kirchhoff were absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of March 5, 1946 were read. A ::1 motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Welsh that the minutes be approved as read. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Lams and seconded by Trustee Mott that the Treasurer's report be accepted as read. Ayes: Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Mott, that the special assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Mott, tLat the bills as listed and approved by the Finance Committee, be approved for payment. Ayes: Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A leer received from the Water Softening Service Co. proposing the purchase of 400,000 gallons of water a month, was referred to the Water Com- mittee, on a motion by Trustee Mott and second of Trustee Lams. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Lams that the Cook County Department of Highways' proposal for paving Lincoln Street from Wa Pella Avenue to Busse Road, be referred to the Judiciary and Street Commit- . tees for recommendation and report. Motion carried. The following appointment was then read: April 2, 1946 Honorable Members Board of Trustees Mt. Prospect, 111. Gentlemen: To fill a vacancy, I hereby.appoint Mr. Frank Wolck to the Zoning Board of Appeal for a period of fourteen months. His appointment will therefore expire on June lst, 1947. h° This appointment fills the unexpired term of one year held by the late Wm. Busse, Jr. and for the period of one year thereafter. It was moved by Trustee Lams and seconded by Trustee Wax that the appointment be concurred in. Motion carried. 1 nL c A letter received from Town and Country. Estates regarding the condition of the Katz property, was referred to the Health and Sanita- tion Committee for investigation and report. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Mott, that the Plat of Survey located on the Southeast corner of Albert St. and Central Rd. be referred to the Plan Commission for recommendation. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Welsh, the Plat of First Addition to Lonnquist Gardens be referred to the Plan Commission for recommendation. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Mott, that the Bryant Water Tank Service be authorized to paint the water tank and make the necessary repairs for an amount not to exceed $490.00._ Ayes: Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. r A "RESOLUTION ADJUSTING ERRORS IN RESOLUTION FOR FORECLOSURE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ADOPTED FEBRUARY 5 1946 AND KNOWN AS RESOLUTION NO. 6 -46" was then read. It was moved by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Lams that the resolution be passed. Ayes: Lame, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No images* A motion was made by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee,Mott that the Clerk be instructed to advise the Chicago and Northwestern Rail- way Co, (land commissioner) that the Village Board wishes to extend for five years,lease No. 47237 under the same terms as heretofore. Motion carried. "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 OF AN ORDINANCE KNOWN AS NO. 164' was read. It was moved.by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Lame that the _ordinance: be passed. Ayes: Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. Due to the lateness of the hour, it was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Welsh that the meeting be adjourned until 8:00 P.M.. Wednesday, April 24, 1946. Motion carried.
