HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/07/1946 VB minutes 6 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE .VILLAGE HALL, MT. PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, ON THE 7TH DAY OF MAY,1946 A.D. The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8:10 P.M. The roll being called, the following Trustees responded: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. Trustee Kirchhoff was absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 2nd and adjourn- ed meeting of April 24th were read and approved on motion by Trustee Wax and second of Trustee Lams. Motion carried. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Wax that the Special Assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for pay - ment. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. The following communications by the President were then read: Honorable Members Board of Trustees 1 Village of Mt. Prospect Mt. Prospect, Ill. csi Gentlemen: R To fill a vacancy on the Mt. Prospect Plan Commission caused by the resignation of Mr. Wm. Trunkey, I hereby appoint Mr. Edmund Cleven to fill out the unexpired portion of Mr. Trunkey's term of office and request the Eonfirmation of this honorable board in this appointment. i Very truly yours, (Signed) M.B.Pendleton, President Village of Mt. Prospect. It was moved by Trustee Hartwig and seconded by Trustee Wax that the appointment of Mr. Edmund Cleven be concurred in. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. May 7, 1946 s Honorable Members Board of Trustees Village of Mt. Prospect, Mt. Prospect, I11. Gentlemen: I wish to advise you of the appointment of Mr. Wm. Mulso to the position of Building Superintendent for the Village of Mt. Prospect for the period of one year at a monthly salary of $175.O0. You are also advised of the appointment of Mr. Donald Peterson to the position of Superintendent of Water Works for the Village of Mt. Prospect for a period of one year at a salary of $185.00 r per month. Both appointments are effective as of May 1st, 1946. It was moved by Trustee Hartwig and seconded by Trustee Wax that the appointment of Mr. Wm. Mulso and Mr. Donald Peterson be concurred in. Ayes:. Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A letter from Mr. Val. Weber resigning his position on the Plan Commission was read. President Pendleton stated there being no comments, the resignation wwalla' accepted. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Trustee Lams that the Veterans of Foreign Wars be granted permission to hold their annual "Buddy Poppy Day" on May 25th, 1946. Motion carried. A petition dated May 6th, 1946 to change the present zoning restrictions for commercial building purposes to residential build- ings and signed by the owners of Lots 189, 190, 195, 197, 200 and :") 204 located on the East side of Main St., between Central and Henry Streets, was referred to the Zoning Commission on a motion by Trustee Welsh and second of Trustee Wax. Motion carried. Mr. Otto C. Maleske requested that the Board reconsider his case regarding the re- zoning of Lot 3 in Block 7 in Meier's Addition to Mt. Prospect. President Pendleton informed Mr. Maleske the matter would be taken under advisement. The Clerk read a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF WATER MAINS ON HI -LUSI AND WA -PELLA AVENUES FROM LONNIQUIST BLVD. TO GOLF ROAD, AND ON GOLF ROAD FROM I -OKA AVENUE TO WA -PELLA AVENUE, IN MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, NO. 12 -46 ". It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the resolu- tion be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that in accordance with the amended water ordinance, the $5.00 de- posit be refunded to the following citizens: W. A. Hornbostel A. 0. Jefferson John Kuba K. Le May J. N. Buterbaugh Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. t:: A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Trustee Wax that the Public Service Compan' be authorized to install Street lights at the intersection of Fairview Ave. and Thayer St., and also at Go -wanda and Wa -Pella Aves. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes, It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Wax that the Board concur in the recommendation of the Plan Commission to change the name of Hi -Lusi Ave. to Hiawatha Trail, and that the Attorney for the Village prepare the necessary ordinance. Motion carried. May 7, 1946 , 9 "A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE MOUNT PROSPECT STATE BANK AS + ` A DEPOSITARY OF VILLAGE FUNDS AND DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICERS AUTHORIZED TO ENDORSE IN THE NAME OF THE VILLAGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEPOSITS AND COLLECTIONS NO. 13 -46 ". was read. It was moved by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Trustee Welsh that the resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. "RESOLUTION NO. 14 -46 DESIGNATING THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF CHICAGO AS A DEPOSITARY FOR THE FUNDS OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT' was read. It was moved by Trustee Lams, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. . "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FEES AND CHARGES FOR SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH DE- LINQUENT, WITHDRAWN, AND FORFEITED SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS" was read. A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Welsh that the ordinance be passes. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR BORROWING MONEY AND ISSUING MUNICIPAL BUILDING BONDS OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $145,000.00 AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF A DIRECT ANNUAL TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST OF SAID BONDS" was read. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Lams that the ordinance be passed and published in the Mount Prospect Herald. Ayes; Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. N _,; The Clerk then read AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION .- TO THE VOTERS OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT i COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ., OF AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $145,000.00 MUNICIPAL BUILDING BONDS OF SAID VILLAGE AT A SPECIAL RUCTION TO BE HELD IN AND �" FOR SAID VILLAGE ON THE 10TH DAY OF JULY, 1946 ". It was moved by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Wax that the ordinance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A "RESOLUTION TO FORECLOSE THE LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS NO. 15 -46" was read•and passed on a motion made by Trustee Welsh and second of Trustee Wax. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. t . A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Lams that the Treasurer's Bond in the amount of $20,000.00 be approved. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Wax that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. ‘-", '
