HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/04/1946 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, ON THE 4TH DAY OF JUNE, 1946 A.D. President Pendleton called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. The _ roll was called and the following Trustees responded: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, 7 Wax and Welsh. Trustee Kirchhoff was absent. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved on a motion by Trustee Lams and second of Trustee Wax. Motion carried. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Lams, seconded by Trustee Welsh that the Special Assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. Jun 4 , 1946 13 It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for paymentl Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A request for permission to use the ball park on Tuesday and Friday evenings, and on Sunday afternoons by the Mt. Prospect Athletic:. Club, was referred to the Park Committee. Trustee Mott in his report on Finance, suggested that a committee be appointed to study the Business License Ordinance, and make whatever revisions are necessary in order to more equitably administer the Ordinance. President Pendleton appointed the following Committee: Trustee Mott, Chair - opmft man, Lams and Welsh. A motion was made by Trustee Lams and seconded by Trustee Welsh that the Committee on Public ''arks be given permission to remove the necessary trees to provide adequate space for the new soft ball diamond in the park adjacent to Weller Creek. Motion carried. "AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A PORTION OF LINCOLN AND EMERSON STREETS AS AN ARTERIAL HIGHWAY" was then read. It was moved by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Lams that the ordinance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams,.Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A request that the Village institute foreclosure proceedings again- st Lot 137 in the H. Roy Berry Company's Colonial Manor for unpaid special assessments, was referred to the Judiciary Committee. A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Lams that the President and Clerk be authorized to execute the extension of Lease No. 47237 as presented by the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that in accordance with the amended Water Ordinance, the $5.00 deposit be refunded to Mr. Fred A. Tice. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. "A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SEWERS AND AUTHORIZING WORK IN THE FIRST ADDITION TO CASTLE HEIGHTS''NO. 18 -46" was read. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. "RESOLUTION NO. 19 -46" was read and passed on a motion by Trustee Wax and second of Trustee Lams. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Hartwig and seconded by Trustee Wax that the Veterans of Foreign Wars be granted permission to hold their biannual street carnival at the intersection of Maple and Evergreen Avenues, on June 4th through June 9th, 1946. Motion carried. "RESOLUTION NO. 20 -4r6" approving the paving of Lincoln Street by the Cook County Highway Dept. was read and passed on a motion by Trustee Welsh and second of Trustee Lams, Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Wax that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. , / June 4, 1946
