HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/02/1946 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, • ILLINOIS, ON THE 2ND DAY OF JULY 1946 A.D. President Pendleton called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. and upon calling the roll, the following Trustees responded: Hartwig, Lams, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and 'Welsh. The minutes of the regular meeting of June 4th, 1946 was read and approved on a motion by Trustee Hartwig and second of Trustee Welsh. Motion carried. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax, and Welsh. No nayes. lossS A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the Special Assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Lass that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for payment. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, 'Wax and Welsh. No nayes. for The Clerk then read an affidavit /posting notice of an election to be held on the 10th day of July 1946 and :presented affidavits for the publication of said election and Building Bond ordinance. It was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Wax that the affidavits be placed on file. Motion carried. A recommendation by the Zoning Commission to change R -2 Residence District to R -1, in the Vest half of the block bounded by Main and Emerson Streets, and Central and Henry Streets, was referred to the Judiciary Committee for the preparation of amendment. A motion was made by Trustee Lams and seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that the Library Report be placed on file. Motion carried. An application for a license to operate a package liquor store was referred to the Judiciary Committee for investigation and report. "` It was moved by Trustee Kirchhoff, seconded by Trustee Lams that the Board authorize the purchase of "Traffic Suns" as recommended by the 33,1ice Committee. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No ,ayes. It was Teove by Trustee I:ir^_hhoff and seconded by Trustee Less that the Police Committee place an order with the Busse Motor Sales for a 19146 Model 46 -S Buick. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax. and Welsh. No nayes. .1 "RESOLUTION FOR THE FORECLOSURE OF THE LENT OF SPECIAL ASSESS- MENTS* No. 21 -46 was read and passed on a motion made by Trustee Hartwig and second of Trustee Welsh. Ayes; Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A "RESOLUTION FOR THr FORECLOSURE OF THE LEIN OF SPECIAL ASSESS - MENTS" No. 22 - was then read. It was moved by Trustee Kirchhoff, seconded by Trustee Wax that the Resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Wax Welsh. Nays: Lams and Mott. Motion carried. Mr. Harrington, Chairman of the Plan Commission, presented a plat of "Moehling's Pleasanteale Subdivision" and recommended that the plat be approved, subject to the Village Board's approval of building restrictions. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee siss Wax that the Plat be referred to the Building Committee. Motion carried. The Clerk then read an ordinance entitled: THE ANNUAL APPROPRI- ATION BILL OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1946 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1947 ". It was moved by Trustee Wax, and seconded by Trustee Lams, that the ordin- ance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams. Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Lams, that the Board accept the deed to the property at the Nortwest corner of June 4, 1946 16 Maple Street and Northwest Highway which was presented by the Mt. Pros- pect Volunteer Fire Department, and Commissioner Busse,to be used for the site of the New Administration Building. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, 'Wax and Welsh. No nayes. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Mott find seconded by Trustee Wax that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. //'
