HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/06/1946 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE 19 PR;IDENT AN BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, ON THE 6TH DAY OF AUGUST 1946 A.D. President Pendleton called the meeting to order at 8:10 P.M. ` The roll being called, the following Trustees responded: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 2nd and the special .meetings of July 10th and 17th were read and approved on a motion by Trustee Lams and second of Trustee Wax. Motion carried. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. • • It was moved by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Wax that the Special Assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, and seconded by Trustee Wax that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for payment. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. The following communication was then read: i Honorable Members Board of Trustees Village of Mt. Prospect, I11. Gentlemen: To fill a vacancy, I take pleasure in announcing tht. appointment of Mr. Richard R. Young, 119 N. Fairview Av. to the Mt. Prospect Plan Commission. The concurrence of the Board is respectfully requested in this appointment. Very truly yours (Signed) M.B.Pendleton, President Village of Mt. Prospect. It was moved by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the President's appointment of Mr. Richard R. Young be concurred in. Motion carried. A petition signed by twenty -five citizens,to the Village Board of Mt. Prospect for maintenance and repair of Emerson Street extending North of Central Road, was read and referred to the Streets and Sidewalks Com- mittee. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Trustee Wax that the Board request the Township Highway Commissioners of Elk Grove and Wheeling Townships to levy a tax for road and bridge purposes for the year 1946. Motion carried. The Clerk then read an ordinance entitled "THE ANNUAL LEVY ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND ASSESSMENT OF TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1946 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1947 ". It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Lams that the ordinance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A "RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF SEWER AND WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS IN MOEHLING'S PLEASANT -DALE SUBDIVISION, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS" No. 24 -46 was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott that the Resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh., No nayes. August 6, 1946 A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Trustee Wax that in accordance with the amended water ordinance, the $5.00 deposit be refunded to Mr. H. Falkenberg. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Wax that the Mount Prospect State Bank and the First National Bank of Chicago continue as depositories for the funds of Dougald L. Gilbert, Village Treasurer and Collector. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE CREAT- ING AND ESTABLISHING A FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS" was read. A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott that the Ordinance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. "AN ORDINANCE CHANGING NAME OF HI -LUSI AVENUE BETWEEN ELMHURST STREET AND MAN -AWA TRAIL TO HIAWATHA TRAILtAND SA -GO -LE AVENUE BETWEEN LONNQUIST BLVD. AND MAN -AWA TRAIL TO HI -LUSI AVENUE ",was read. A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the Ordinance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax And Welsh. No nayes. A "RESOLUTION FOR FORECLOSURE OF LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS" No. 25 -46 was read. It was moved by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Wax that the Resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A 'Resolution entitled "RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE PRESIDENT AND VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE ESCROW AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF VILLAGE WITH THE OWNERS AND LENDING AGENCIES FOR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS IN NEW SUBDIVISIONS" No. 26 -46 was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Lams that the Resolution be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott. Wax and Welsh. No nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig and seconded by Trustee Wax that the salaries of Mr. R. Jeanis and Mr. Jacob Gjoen be increased $10.00 per month, and that the salary of Mr. Donald Petersen be increased $5.00 per month, beginning August 15, 1946. Ayes: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Tax that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
