CLOSED SESSION
JULY 15, 2008
The meeting was convened at 9:45 p.m., in the third floor Executive Conference Room
of Village Hall, 50 South Emerson, by Mayor Irvana Wilks. Those present at the Closed
Session were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, John Korn, Arlene Juracek, Steven Polit and
Michael Zadel. Staff present included Village Manager Michael Janonis, Assistant
Village Manager David Strahl and Police Chief John Dahlberg.
Litigation Discussion
� yillage Manager Michael Janonis provided a summary and a proposal to settle a
otential lawsuit situation in which a possible offender was injured while being taken into
4 ustody. This individual was acting suspiciously and ultimately did have authorization to
be present inside the building which he was removed from and was injured during the
ilemoval process. This settlement proposal is to dispose of the case with all the proper
teleases with an out of court settlement option of between $30,000 and $40,000. He
would recommend settlement authority up to $40,000. Village Board would authorize
= settlement up to $50,000 if necessary.
