CLOSED SESSION IL - / 9, _
September 4, 2007
The meeting was convened at 8:08 p.m., in the third floor Executive Conference Room of
Village Hall, 50 South Emerson, by Mayor Irvana Wilks. Those present at the Closed Session
were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Arlene Juracek, John Korn and Richard
Lohrstorfer. Staff present included Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village
Manager David Strahl. Motion made by Trustee Korn seconded by Trustee Corcoran to move
into Closed Session. The purpose of the Closed Sessiori was to discuss Personnel.
Village Manager Michael Janonis stated he is in the process of getting the Closed Session
Minutes which need to be approved caught up and once those minutes are caught up he would
request the approval be taken as a whole. He stated the dates listed in the packet to the Board
members (5/15/07, 6/5/07, 6/28/07, 7/17/07 and 8/7/07) include the minutes that are to be
approved. Minutes were approved as presented.
Personnel Discussion
Assistant Village Manager David Strahl provided an overview of the settlement offer to
dispose of a pending grievance with a terminated Public Works employee, Richard Stevens. He
Q stated that the settlement would be in the amount of $5,000 net to the terminated employee.
G Village Board members approved of the settlement.

! F3 Mayor Wilks provided an update to the Village Board members regarding the Board of Fire and
_C, Police Commissioners. She stated she has gathered input from the Chief's and is considering a
0 change in the make up of the Commission including leadership discussions, staff involvement
( ; during the hiring process, and the number of members for the commission including possible
7-, 6 term limits.
There being no further business discussed in Closed Session, by unanimous vote the Closed
Session adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
