HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/07/1948 VB minutes 8b MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 1948. The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8 :30 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and the following Trustees responded: Bayne, Hartwig, Lams, Mott, and Welsh. Trustee Bydal was absent. The Clerk then read the following communication: Mt. Prospect, Illinois "'"1 June 28, 1948 Mr. Robert Milligan, Acting Clerk Village of Mount Prospect Mt. Prospect, Illinois Dear Sir: Will you please call a special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees to be held in the Village Hall Wednesday evening, July 7th at eight o'clock. The 'purpose of this meeting is to discuss matters per - taining to our new Municipal building and to consider and transact any other business that may properly come before the Board. Village Board of Trustees July 7, 1948 A motion was then made by Trustee Welsh, 8 7 seconded by Lams, that the Village Fire Dept. be granted permission to have a bronze plaque, listing the Department members, placed on the new Municipal Building at the Fire Department section. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Presi- dent declared the motion carried. A communication, dated June 25, 1948 from Goldberg, Devoe, and Brussell together with a petition from Mary Ruth Schmidt and Harry Fred Schmidt regarding rezoning of lot Fifty -four (54) in "Morningside Gardens" was then read. The motion was then made by Trustee Welsh!, seconded by Bayne, that the petition be referred to the Village.Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne, that the Mount Prospect Building Code of 1938, as is now amended, be enforced and in addi- tion that dry wall construction be prohibited. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Bayne, Hartwig, Lams, and Mott; Nays: Trustee Welsh. �.- Thereupon the President,declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a communication dated July 1st, from Consoer, Townsend, & Associates re- garding revised plans for paving of Lonnquist Boule- vard east of Elmhurst Road. A motion was made by Trustee Mott second- ed by Bayne, that the plans be submitted to the Village Plan Commission for their study and recom- mendations. The motion was voted upon by accla- mation, whereupon the President declared the motion ' carried. A communication, dated June 22, from the Village Library Board, regarding the possible use of the community room in the new municipal Building for temporary library quarters was then read. The motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Lams, that a meeting with the Library Board be arranged, at their convenience, to further discuss any revised plans as per letter of June 22nd. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a communication, dated June 30th, 1948, from attorney David B. Maloney re- auesting foreclosure proceedings on the several lots owned by School District 57.i\ The Clerk was instruct- ed to acknowledge the letter and advise Mr. Maloney that the Village Board did not desire to deviate from present proceedure regarding foreclosure pro- ceedings. A communication, dated July 6,1948, from ""r" Harold E. Willson requesting transfer of funds, which are held in escrow for street improvements on See - .,, Gwun Ave., to Earl G. Iversen was then read. The Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Willson that there can be no transfer of funds as requested but that Mr. Iversen may be substituted as far as power of Direc- tion is concerned. The motion was then made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Lams that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned. July 7, 1948
