HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 5814 09/07/2010 ORDINANCE NO. 5814 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, SIGN REGULATIONS, OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, REGARDING POLITICAL SIGNS Passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees the 7 th day of September, 2010 Published in pamphlet form by authority of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, the 8 th day of September, 2010 ORDINANCE NO. 5814 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, SIGN REGULATIONS, OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, REGARDING POLITICAL SIGNS BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, acting in the exercise of their home rule powers, as follows: SECTION 1: Subsection F of Section 7.205, "Exempt Signs," of Article II, "Scope ", of Chapter 7 of the Mount Prospect Village Code shall be deleted in its entirety and the following inserted, to be and read as follows: F. Political: Political campaign signs may be displayed on private property provided: 1. The total area of all such signs on a lot does not exceed sixteen (16) square feet; and 2. The signs are removed within ten (10) days after the election, unless located on residential property. SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
