HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/05/1964 VB minutes SPECIALMEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD NOVEMBER 5, 196q ~ President Schlaver opened the meeting at 8:18 P.M. with the following members present: roll call T~us~ees Bergen~ Bruhl, Busse, Ekren. Absent: T~ustees Casterline and Phillips. Trustee Casterline arrived later, at 9:10 P.M. President Schlaver announced that all trustees had Bluett Sub received a copy of the appraisal and report from Greeley and water Hansen on the Bluett Fairview Gardens water system. General discussion was held on the report. Mr. King sZated that the $150,000 cost would be spread over fourteen years figured at 3-1/2% interest rate, which was the rate used in the last bond issue. Fire Chief Haberkamp stated that the purchase of this ~ompany would not damage our fire rating but help our fire protection, and that the water mains in that area were greater in size than some of ours. Carl Reh of Greeley & Hansen said that this was a good system for a residential area. Mr. Creamer agreed that he was im- pressed with the system; the hydrants were well placed and were of the same make as ours and the fire flow test looked good. Mr. Hemmeter also stated-~hat he believed it to be an excellent system to have. Several citizens from the Westgate Road area asked about the annexation of the property in Bluett Fai~view Gardens and wanted to know how much would be included in the annexation. President Sch~ver stated That the Board would meet with the people in the area and discuss this with them. November 16 was set for the meeting with the Bluett Fairview Gardens Association and a separate date would be set for the people in ~he Westgate Road area. Trustee Bruh~, seconded by Trustee Ekren, moved that the Village Attorney be directed to work out an option agreement which would be satisfactory to the Village Board and the seller of the property, the option agreement to be executed within 90 days, with a SO-day extension of time if the annexation proceedings were not completed within that time. P~esident Schlaver stated That the Board members also had the appraisal and report of Greeley and Hansen for The small well in the Bluett subdivision previously annexed (wes~ side of Rand Road). Discussion was held on this water company. Mr. King informed The Board that this could be financed in the same way as the other water company and would be used as a stand-by service. Mr. Creamer said that The small well would not be difficult to hook into our pres- ent system. November 5, 196. luett Sub water Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Ekren, moved that the Citizens Utilities Company he offered the sum of $?0,000 for the water supply facilities known as Citizens Bluett Company. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bergen Bruht Busse Casterline Ek~en Pres. Schlaver Absent: Phillips Motion carried. Payroll President Schlaver referred I~em #3 of the Agenda - - "The Selection' of a pay classification survey firm" ~o the Finance Committee for further study. T~ustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Busse, moved that the meeting he adjourned. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bergen Busse Casterline Pres. Schlaver Nays: Bruhl Ekren Absent: Phillips Motion carried.
