HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 01-45 01/02/1945 RESOLUTION No. 1-45 WHEREAS, there exists in the Village of Mount Prospect a large amount of tax delinquency, thereby greatly reducing the percentage of tax collections and increasing the difficulty of providing funds necessary for municipal pur- poses; and, WHEREAS, in many cases the amount of taxes and penalties accumulated are disproportionate to the value of the property against which the taxes are out- standing; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect has been requested to signify its approval of an offer made to the County Board of Cook County by the owner of improved property, for the settlement of delinquent taxes, the said property being improved for a special use; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect that property be placed on a current tax paying basis, BE IT, THEREFORE, RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect hereby recommend to the Board of County Commis- sioners of Cook County that any bids on improved property in the Village of Mount Prospect be refused unless such bids on such improved property are not less than 60% of the principal amount of such taxes, excepting where the im- provements on such property are for a special or single use and are commonly known as single purpose improvements; in such case a bid of 40 of the unpaid taxes should be accepted; that all property improved for residential use should come under the first classification. THIS RESOLUTION shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
