HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 08-51 04/17/1951 FMO *AGH 126 c 4117/51 I u RESOLUTION NC , RESOLUTION DE- CONTROLLING RENTS �� WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the provisions of the Housing and Rent Act, as Amended by Public law No. 880 of the 81st Congress, Second Session vests in Municipalities the power by formal resolution to de- control rents within such municipality, provided, public notice is given at least ten days prior to the public hearing on the question of de- controlling rents within the municipality; and WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held on the 17th day of April, 1951, in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall in Mount Prospect, Illinois, at 8 Otclock P.M. was given to the citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, said public notice was published more than ten days prior to the 17th day of April, A.D. 1951; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect heard the arguments for and against the proposition of de- controlling rents within the Village of Mount Prospect. NOW, THEREFORE, after due consideration of the arguments and facts presented to this Board, it is hereby resolved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, as follows: SECTION 1. That the President and Board of Trustees find that no such shortage of rental housing accommodations as to require rent control exists within the Village of Mount Pros- pect. SECTION 2. That public welfare of the Village of Mount Prospect warrants the de- controlling of rents within the said fi -2- Village from this day henceforth. SECTION 3. That the President and Board of Trustees, pursuant to power vested in them, hereby de- control the rents and discontinue rent controls within the Village from this day henceforth. SECTION 4.
