HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 09-51 04/17/1951 FMO *AGH 1 & 4/16/51 T_ 5 RESOLUTION DECLARING TIIE RESULTS OF THE VILLAGE ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 17th, 1951. * * * * * * WHEREAS, a regular election was held on Tuesday, April 17th, 1951, in the Village of Mount Prospect, for the purpose of electing a Village Trustee to fill a vacancy and three (3) Village Trustees for the full term and two (2) Directors of the Public Library; and at said election one proposition was submit- ted to the voters of said Village; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, as by Statute in such case made and provided, have canvassed the votes cast at said election, find as follows: TOTAL VOTES CAST 2 7/ DEFECTIVE BALLOTS / SPOILED BALLOTS not used 0 (1) FOR VILLAGE TRUSTEE: One to fill vacancy Ii Robert C. (2) On the proposition: -2- 2. Shall bonds in the amount of $22,000.00 be is- sued by the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of acquiring fire fighting equipment in said Village, matur- ing on January 1 of each of the year and in amounts as follows: $2,000.00 due 1953 through 1960 inclusive; $3,000.00 due 1961 through 1962 inclusive; and bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed two per cent (2 %) per annum? NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. SECTION 1. That ROBERT C. BAYNE having received the highest number of votes cast, be and he is hereby declared duly elected to the office of Village Trustee to serve for the term of two years, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of RUDOLPH A. STOELK, SECTION 2. That JAMES T. BROWN, SPURGEON C. GOODLING and ARTHUR E. IBBOTSON, having received the highest number of votes cast, be and they are hereby declared duly elected to the office of Village Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, to serve for the full terra of four (4) years, as is by law provided. SECTION 3. That BERTHA T. EHARD and HOWARD P. HARNDEN having received the highest number of votes cast, be and they are hereby declared duly elected to the office of Directors of the Mount Prospect Library Board for the full term, as is by law provided. I I -3- SECTION 4. That the proposition: Shall bonds in the amount of $22,000.00 be issued by the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of acquiring fire fighting equipment in said Village, maturing on January 1 of each of the years and in amounts as follows: 2,000.00 due 1953 through 1960 inclusive; 1 3,000.00 due 1961 through 1962 inclusive; and bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed two per cent (2%) per annum? having received a majority of all of the votes cast on said proposition, the said proposition be and the same is hereby de- clared carried and the President and Board of Trustees are thereby authorized to issue bonds in the sum of $22,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing fire fighting equipment. SECTION 5. That ROBERT C. BAYNE, JAMES T. BROWN, SPURGEON C. DOODLING and ARTHUR E. TRBOTSON, Village Trustees; BERTHA T. EHARD and HOWARD P. HARNDEN, Directors of the Mount Prospect Public Library be installed into office and enter upon their duties upon qualifying, as is by law provided. SECTION 6. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. PASSED: this 17th day of April, A.D. 1951. APPROVED: this 17th day of April, A.D. 1951. 'll I I
