HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 03-55 02/15/1955 RESOLUTION NO. 3 -2,52 RESOLUTION TO FORECLOSE THE LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ********** WHEREAS, Ordinances have heretofore been adopted providing for the construction of certain local improvements in the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, special assessments were levied to pay the cost of sad work, and, pursuant to the Statute applicable thereto, said improvements were constructed and the report of cost and completion was approved in manner and form provided by law; and WHEREAS, certain installments of said special assess- ments levied against individual lots and parcels of land have not been paid and are now past due and delinquent; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees find that it will be for the best interests of the Village that said special assessment liens be foreclosed; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the president and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: SECTION 1. That the special assessment liens against the following described real estate, to -wit: Lot 14 in Block 23 in Busse's Eastern Addition to Mount Prospect in the East half of Section 12 Township 4 +1 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois. Lot 39 in Maplewood Heights, being a subdivision of the East 15.00 chains of that part lying north of Railroad of Southeast k of Section 12, (except the Southerly 66 feet for road) also of Block 26 in Busse's Eastern Addition to Mount prospect in the East half of Section 12, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois. Lot 16 in Block 6 in Hillcrest Subdivision, being a subdivision of the Northeast Quarter of the South- west quarter (except the North 2 7/8 acres thereof) of Section 34, Township 42 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois. be foreclosed. SECTION 2. That the Attorney for the Village of Mount Prospect be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prosecute said foreclosure suit as he may deem best, and to cooperate with the State's Attorney of Cook County in pro- curing the foreclosure of the lien of general taxes of said lots, if any there be, and with the officials of the Drainage Districts in procuring the foreclosure of the lien of Drainage District benefit special assessments on said lots, if any there be, and this Board requests said State's Attorney and officials of the Drainage District to foreclose; and that said Attorney for the Village is hereby authorized to file suit for foreclosure or to join in any suit or suits to foreclose instituted by the State's Attorney to foreclose the lien of general taxes and to take such other steps as he deems proper to procure the prompt sale of said property to satisfy said liens. SECTION 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 4.
