HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 13-55 08/02/1955 RESOLUTION NO. j3-5 RESOLUTION authorizing acceptance of alternate bid on Contract No. 2 Waterworks Improvements 1954 and directing officers to execute supplement contract. WHEREAS. the Village of Mount Prospect on April 5, 1955, received bids for a portion of the Waterworks Improve - ments - 1954, known as Contract No. 2, Pump Station and Foundation Work, and WHEREAS, on May 3, 1955, the Village of Mount Prospect, acting through its President and Board of Trustees, entered into a contract with salter Doofe and Vernon L. Walker co- partners doing business as John Erskine Company, in the amount of $144,696.00, and WHEREAS, the contract price of said contract was calculated upon the basis of constructing the foundations for a 750,000 gallon elevated steel tank, and upon the basis of deleting the well pump, the well pump motor, and the gasoline engine, and WHEREAS, it is now possible for the Village to finance the additional cost of a 1,000,000 gallon elevated tank and to finance the cost of the said well pump, well pump rotor, and the gasoline engine, and WHEREAS, the individual costs of the aforesaid items were set forth in the proposal, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED, by the president and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount prospect: 1. That the alternate proposal of John Erskine Company for the construction of foundations for a 1,000,000 gallon elevated tank be accep cu; 2. That the deleted items, being the well pump, the well pump motor, and the gasoline engine, be restored; 3. That the Total Contract Price for Contract No. 2 be revised to equal the sum of $175,974.00, in accordance with the Proposal; and 4. That contract Supplement No. 1 modifying the original contract heretofore cited be entered into, and that the President and Clerk be authorized and directed to sign the same on behalf of The Village.
