HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 06-57 04/16/1957 -,,~'1i<rrJllrr_IU 1'1 ---- L~n 6 - s-- RESOLUTION No.6-51 RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION ON THE PROPOSITION TO ADOPT OPTIONAL FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS ACT FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 1957 WHEREAS, At the regular election held on Tuesday, April 16, 1957, in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, there was submitted to the electorate the question: "Shall the Village of Mount Prospect adopt the provisions of 'An Act to provide for the appointment of a Board of Fire and Police Commissioners in all cities, villages and incorporated towns of the State of Illinois, having a population of not less than five thousand, nor more than two hundred fifty thousand and prescribing the powers and duties of such board?,1I ; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, as by statute in such case made and provided, canvassed the votes cast at said election on said proposition, find as follows: FOR PROPOSITION: AGAINST PROPOSITION: / C; O-~ votes /0 7 g votes NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: Section 1: The proposition: uShall the Village of Mount Prospect adopt the prOVisions of 'An Act to provide for the appointment of a Board of Fire and Police Commissioners in all cities, villages and incorporated towns of the State of Illinois, having a population of not less than five thousand, nor more than two hundred fifty thousand and prescribing the powers and duties of such board?'" be and the same is hereby declared Afjlroyec/ bEe , and that said proposition shall hereafter in full force and , n- - - - n _ In-" .1._t'l(f_J~~ J - 2 - effect as provided by law.
