RESOLUTION NO. 18-57
WHEREAS there exists within the Village of Mount Prospect,
Cook County, Illinois a railroad crossing of the Chicago &
Northwestern Railway Company at Central Road and Northwest
Highway; and
WHEREAS during the past year numerous accidents have
occurred, seriously jeopardizing life and property, not only
of the residents of the Village of Mount Prospect, but all who
use said dangerous crossing; and
WHEREAS the corporate authorities of the Village of
Mount Prospect in the interests of public safety and welfare
of its residents, have sought the installation of gates at
said crossing in order to protect the life and property of its
residents;
NOW THEREFORE Be It Resolved By the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County,
Illinois:
1. That the corporate authorities do hereby petition
and call upon the Illinois Commerce Commission, Cook
County Highway Department, and Chicago & Northwestern
Railroad to take such immediate action as is necessary to
immediately cause to be installed railroad crossing gates
at the Chicago & Northwestern Railway crossing at Central
Road and Northwest Highway in the Village of Mount
Prospect, Cook County, Illinois; and
2. Copies of this Resolution be promptly delivered
to the Illinois Commerce Commission, Cook County Highway
Department, and the
