RESOLUTION NO. 4 - 59
HHEREAS, the Village President and Village Board of
Trustees of Mount Prospect, Illinois are extremely interested
in the planning and development of an attractive central business
district in Mount Prospect, and
HHEH.E.AS, the "Plan" approved by the Village Board of
Trustees provides for a complete revamping of the central business
district, and
i:JHEREAS, a group of }Tount Prospect business men have
formed a committee to develop plans for improved parking, modernized
lightine, etc. for the central business district, and
l:JHEHEAS, the Chicago cU1d Northwestern Railroads passenger
station because of its deplorable condition does not fit into the
attractive decor of the rest of the Village,
NUN, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL~~D, that the Village President
ffild Village Board of Trustees urge the m1icago and Northwestern
RaHroad to make extensive repairs to the passenger station and
the adjacent areas used by commuters to board and leave comr:mter
trains in Mount Prospect. It would be futile in view of the central
location of the Chicago & Northwestern station in Hount Prospect
for village officials and business men to attempt to improve the
central business district without the co-operation of the Chicago &
Northwestern Railroad.
