HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 16-59 04/21/1959 RESOLUTION NO. 16-59 A RESOLUTION THAT THE WISHES OF THE VOTERS BE RESPECTED AND THAT THE TREES Dr THE CENTRAL PARKt~AY OF PROSPECT AVENUE BE LEFT AND THE STREET IMPROVED BY WIDENING AND CURBING THE ROADWAY. WHEREAS, on April 21, 1959, there was submitted to the voters of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, certain propositions, which propositions and the results of the tabulation of the votes were as follows: A. Shall the trees in the central parkway of Prospect Avenue be left as they are now, and the street improved by widening the paved roadways and curbing the central parkway? Votes - 1,239 B. Shall the trees in the central parkway of Prospect Avenue be removed and the parkway completely paved? Votes - 529 ; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Trustees to follow the wishes of the people having expressed themselves as I aforesaid, I II I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: 1. That Prospect Avenue located within the Village be improved by narrowing and curbing the parkway, leaving the trees in the central parkway of Prospect Avenue. PASSED this 21st day of April, 1959. .'
