HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 5794 04/20/2010 ORDINANCE NO. 5794 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT Passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees the 20th day of April, 2010 Published in pamphlet form by authority of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, the 21st day of April, 2010 ORDINANCE NO. 5794 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, have determined that it is no longer necessary, useful or in the best interest of the Village of Mount Prospect to retain ownership of an air compressor and certain appliances and furniture used at old Fire Station #14; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect that the best interests of the Village would be served by the sale of the surplus air compressor at fair market value; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees that the best interests of the Village and the children and adolescents of the Joseph Academy, "Life Skills Program" would be served by the donation of certain appliances and furniture from old Fire Station #14. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS: SECTION ONE: The air compressor is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Mount Prospect. The best interests of the Village will be served by disposing of the property in the manner specified below. SECTION TWO: The Fire Department air compressor will be sold for $750.00 to: Mr. Eddie Figus SECTION THREE: The furniture and appliances are no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Mount Prospect. The best interests of the Village will be served by disposing of the property in the manner specified below. SECTION FOUR: The appliances (two - refrigerators, range, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer); outdoor grill and picnic table and furniture (couch, five - recliners, two - end tables, TV stand, five - mattresses with frames, two - desks, five - office chairs, office cabinets and two - bulletin boards) will be donated to: Joseph Academy - Des Plaines, Illinois SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
