MINUTES
CLOSED SESSION
October 23, 2001
The Closed Session was convened at 8:50 p.m. in the Human Services conference room. The
purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Personnel. Present were: Mayor Gerald Farley and
Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and
Michael Zadel. Staff present included: Village Manager Michael Janonis.
Personnel
The Village Board met for the purpose of discussing the Village Manager's annual performance
review. Mayor Farley shared with Board members the evaluation instrument that each Board
member had previously filled out.
Mr. Janonis excused himself from the Closed Session at approximately 9:10p.m.
Board members reviewed the group rating of the Manager's performance. His strengths and
weaknesses were reviewed.
Based on overall performance ratings and discussion among Board members, the Village Manager
was granted a 4-1/2% raise in base pay from $116,500 to $121,750. The Board also granted the
Manager a $10,000 performance bonus. Mayor Farley indicated he would meet with the Village
Manager the next day to discuss the results of the Board's review. The compensation changes
would be finalized at an upcoming Village Board meeting.
There was no other business discussed in Closed Session. On a Motion by Trustee Wilks and
Seconded by Trustee Hoefert, the Closed ession adjourn d at 9:42 p.m. No action was taken.
