MINUTES
CLOSED SESSION
November 6, 2001
The Closed Session was convened at 8:14 p.m., in the second floor conference room of Village Hall
by Mayor Farley. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Property Acquisition and
Personnel. Present were: and Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer,
Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zadel. Staff present included: Village Manager
Michael Janonis, Assistant Village Manager David Strahl and Community Development Director
William Cooney.
Property ACQuisition
Village Manager Janonis outlined the recent Bank One purchase option and is requesting some
Village Board direction whether to engage an architect and engineer to review the building as an
option for purchase. He also suggested that the overview include the proposed floor plans and how
the Village could utilize the Bank's footprint for Village purposes.
General discussion by Village Board members included a concern regarding trying to fit the
renovations into the building while it is being occupied and business is being conducted. There was
also a concern regarding Village operational needs. There was a suggestion to pursue reviewing
the building due to the likely favorable purchase price and the overall value the building may have as
a Village Hall. There was also a discussion regarding the parking issues and the likely point where
the parking deck might be located. The Village Board directed staff to engage DLK in a building
review and present a report back to the Board for further action.
Village Manager Janonis stated he would set up a Village Board walk-through at 8:00 a.m. on
November 10 prior to Coffee with Council.
Assistant Village Manager Strahl and Community Development Director Cooney were excused from
the meeting at 8:45 p.m.
Village Manager discussed Senior Management compensation with the Village Trustees and
requested any input regarding anticipated salary increase for next fiscal year.
There was no other business discussed in Closed Session. The Closed Session adjourned at 9:00
p.m. No action was taken.
