Lowe Village of Mount Prospect 100 South Emerson Street Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 MINUTES CLOSED SESSION DECEMBER 18, 2001 The Closed Session was convened at 8:44 p.m. in the Human Services conference room. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Property Acquisition. Present were: Mayor Gerald Farley and Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zadel. Staff present included: Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl. Property ACQuisition Rina Road Propert'l Village Manager Janonis provided a summary of the research and the status of various properties related to the lOOT Phase I ring road area around the Route 83/Kensington/Rand intersection. He also stated that there are some Village concerns regarding the proposed lOOT solution for the intersection which will need to be addressed. There was discussion regarding the preferred legs of the ring road to relieve the congestion at the intersection. The Village Board directed the Village Manager to continue to obtain proposed costs for property acquisition and enter into further discussions with lOOT regarding the status of the project. Village Manager Janonis also requested some direction regarding a resident request for the vacation of property on Sunset and Edgewood. He inquired whether the Village Board felt that the Village should obtain a value for the property to give property to adjacent property owners even though it is likely that a developer is interested in redeveloping part of the property. Village Board members expressed a preference to obtain value for the property. Village Manager Janonis provided an update regarding the Bank One property and suggested the Village consider moving forward with the Bank One property assessment based on recent discussions with the Mount prospect Public Library.
