CLOSED SESSION
JUNE 8,1999
The Closed Session was convened in the Conference Room of the Senior Citizens Center to
discuss Personnel at 8:10 p.m. Present were: Mayor Gerald Farley, Trustees Timothy
Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Daniel Nocchi, Michaele Skowron and Irvana
Wilks. Also present was Village Manager Michael Janonis.
Personnel
The only topic of discussion was a review of the Village Manager's job performance. Mayor
Gerald Farley distributed a compilation of review comments submitted by Village Board
members. The Mayor reviewed each of the performance categories, the scoring and specific
comments offered by Board members. There was extensive discussion by and between Board
members regarding performance scoring.
The Village Board also discussed with the Village Manager their perceptions of certain aspects
of Village operations. For the most part, Board members were satisfied with the overall service
delivery capabilities of the organization. It was pointed out that there were still concerns about
the Permit Review and Inspection process and the need to establish a procedure that ensured
quick turn-around and consistent building requirements.
Village Board members also indicated a need to focus on development of a Senior Management
Succession Plan, the revitalization of the Randhurst Shopping Center and the upgrade of multi-
family complexes around the Village.
Mayor Farley indicated that the Village Board would engage in a review of changes to the
Manager's salary and benefit package at the June 22 Committee of the Whole meeting.
There was no further discussion in Closed Session and on a Motion by Trustee Wilks,
Seconded by Trustee Lohrstorfer, the Closed Session was adjourned at 9:55 p.m. and moved
into Open Session.
