Janonis MINUTES CLOSED SESSION JUNE 15,1999 The Closed Session was convened in the Conference Room of the Senior Citizens Center to discuss Land Acquisition at 8:50 p.m. Present were: Mayor Gerald Farley, Trustees Paul Hoefert, Michaele Skowron and Irvana Wilks. Absent from the Closed Session were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Richard Lohrstorfer and Daniel Nocchi. Also present were Assistant Village Manager David Strahl and Director of Community Development William Cooney. Land ACQuisition 117 South Main Community Development Director William Cooney provided updates to the Village Board regarding 117 South Main. He stated this property is currently in Court and the owners have been ordered to appear on June 23. The Village has offered $250,000 for the purchase of this property. White Hen Property The closing has been set for June 25 and staff is working on a simultaneous closing with Fannie May. The environmental clean up regarding Fannie May is expected to start in the fall with construction to begin promptly after the first of the year. 216 South Emerson An offer has been made of $100,000 for the property and the Village staff is awaiting a response. Trustee Wilks stated that she contacted Mary Johnson regarding the use of the property for overflow parking. She stated that Ms. Johnson is not adverse to the use of the property for this purpose. Community Development Director Cooney stated that staff will draw up some conceptual plans for review for the use of this property. Trustee Wilks also stated that a number of the neighbors in the area are aware of the proposed use of the property and are less than supportive of the use. Trustee Skowron stated that the Board should be careful not to utilize temporary parking sites too aggressively because residents tend to get used to the use of the lot. Central Plaza Rand Road-Rina Road Staff is inquiring to the State to determine whether the State funds recently approved could be utilized for property acquisition for the eventual construction of the ring road's bypassing the Rand/Kensington/Route 83 intersection.
