Lowe Village of Mount Prospect 100 South Emerson Street Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 LSQD[b[b OO~l1rn&@~ lID&iTrn VILLAGE MANAGER Michael E. Janonis MINUTES CLOSED SESSION AUGUST 17, 1999 The Closed Session was convened in the Conference Room of the Senior Citizens Center to discuss Land Acquisition at 9:18 p.m. Present were: Mayor Gerald Farley; Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron and Irvana Wilks. Absent from the Closed Session was Trustee Daniel Nocchi. Also present were Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl. Land Acauisition Status Village Manager Janonis stated that the closing for Norb Huecker's property has been scheduled for August 19. The original closing date was delayed to give ample opportunity for the site to be cleaned up so the Village would have minimal clean up to perform at the site. Mr. Janonis also stated that representatives from lOOT have attempted to make contact with the property owner near Rand and 83 in an attempt to obtain a Protective Covenant on the land. In case it is offered for sale, the land would be part of the ring- road contemplated in the Route 83 SRA plan. Mr. Janonis also stated that the Village is proceeding with Court Condemnation of Tod Curtis' property and it is slowly winding its way through the Court at this time. Trustee Hoefert provided a summary of the status regarding the Bank One building. He stated he has communicated to the Bank that the Village representatives might have expressed an interest in discussing the availability of the Bank building for a Village Hall/Senior Center. However, Bank One representatives have yet to determine whether the building will be available. General consensus of the Village Board was to draft a letter from the Mayor outlining the square footage needs of the Village if it were to be incorporated into the Bank One building and request a direct response from the Bank representatives. Trustee Corcoran recommended that staff start considering various scenarios for the Village Hall with or without the Bank building as an option. Village Manager Janonis stated that he will work with appropriate staff to determine what the options are for the Village Board to consider. There was no other discussion in Closed Session. On a Motion by Trustee Wilks and Seconded by Trustee Hoefert, the Closed Session was adjourned at 9:44 p.m. by unanimous vote.
