MINUTES
CLOSED SESSION
November 17,1998
The Closed Session was convened at 9:56 p.m. by Mayor Farley to discuss Property Acquisition.
Present were: Trustees George Clowes, Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer and
Irvana Wilks. Absent from the Closed Session was Trustee Daniel Nocchi. Staff present included:
Village Manager Michael Janonis, Assistant Village Manager David Strahl and Community
Development Director William Cooney.
Property Acquisition
Village Manager Janonis provided an overview of the letter from the attorneys of Northwest Electric
which is a response to the last best offer by the Village. There was a substantial discussion
regarding the details of the proposal and various counter-offers that the Village Board may consider
regarding each item on the Agreement that has been submitted.
Village Manager Janonis stated that he has met with Tod Curtis (Ye Olde Town Inn) and informed
him that the Village Board only wants to buy the back part of the property and informed Tod that the
Board would pay fair value and is willing to file Condemnation to get the rear part of the building.
Manager Janonis is awaiting an alternative appraisal from Curtis.
Manager Janonis also informed the Board about a preliminary proposal from lOOT regarding ring
roads to relieve the traffic congestion at Route 83/Kensington and Rand. He stated that lOOT
currently does not have the funding for such a project but has drawn some preliminary plans for
future consideration and possible land acquisition if land were to become available.
The meeting adjourned at 10:50 p.m.
