ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING OF FEBRURY 23, 2010 III. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD IV. COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS CENTER UPDATE On August 29,2009, The Community Connections Center held its Grand Opening. The Center provides a centralized delivery system of information and services for area residents and businesses. It coordinates services among the partner agencies who are interested in leveraging a more efficient service delivery and an alternative venue to see clients, schedule events and hold meetings. The Partner Agencies are the Village of Mount Prospect, Mount Prospect Public Library, Northwest Community Hospital, School District 214 Continuing Education, Consolidated School District 59 and Elk Grove Township. The Center which occupies two store fronts totaling 2,400 square feet is located in the Crystal Court Shopping Center at 1711 W. Algonquin Rd. The Human Services and Police Departments along with the Mount Prospect Public Library will provide an update on the Community Connections Center. Appropriate staff will give presentations, facilitate discussion and be available to answer questions. Members from the Mount Prospect Library Board will also be present. 1 V. GYPSY MOTH/EMERALD ASH BORER UPDATE Atthe March 23,2010 Committee of the Whole Meeting, Forestry/Grounds staff will provide updates on Gypsy Moth and Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Regarding EAB, staff will provide information about the status of the insect in Illinois, including a find within one mile of Mount Prospect's borders. Also, staff will report on the progress of our ash tree reduction/replacement strategy, insecticide treatments and wood utilization efforts. Finally, proposed ordinance and policy changes regarding private ash removals will be presented for Board review. Regarding Gypsy Moth, staff will share the results of our 2009 treatment and trapping efforts, as well as 2009-2010 Winter egg mass inspections. Village Board direction will be sought on various treatment options for 2010. Appropriate staff will be available to answer questions and facilitate discussion. VI. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT VII.
