MINUTES
EXECUTIVE SESSION
JANUARY 19, 1993
The Executive Session was called to order at 9:55 p.m., in the second floor Conference
Room of the Senior Citizens Center, 50 South Emerson Street, for the purpose of
discussing Personnel. Present at the Executive Session were: Mayor Gerald Farley;
Trustees Mark Busse, Timothy Corcoran, Leo Floros, Paul Hoefert and Irvana Wilks.
Absent from the meeting was Trustee George Clowes. Also present was Village
Manager Michael J anonis.
Personnel
The Village Manager reviewed with Board members several alternative economic
packages that might be offered to the Police Union during negotiations. Discussion
focused on a level of compensation as well as other fringe benefits. There was
considerable discussion regarding the need to modify the Village's current medical
insurance package in light of double-digit cost increases. The Village Manager indicated
it was desirable to seek changes in the current deductible schedule and to implement a
more comprehensive co-payment mechanism.
The Village Manager informed Board members of pending disciplinary action against a
Village employee for failure to perform up to job standards. The Village Manager
indicated that the discipline could take form of either demotion from the current position
or termination.
The Executive Session was adjourned after a Motion by Trustee Wilks and Seconded
by Trustee Busse at 11:00 p.m.
