MINUTES
EXECUTIVE SESSION
DECEMBER 14, 1993
The Executive Session was called to order at 10:13 p.m., in the Human Services
Conference Room of the Senior Citizens Center, 50 South Emerson Street, for the
purpose of discussing Litigation. Present at the Executive Session were: Mayor Gerald
Farley; Trustees George Clowes, Richard Hendricks, Paul Hoefert, Michaele Skowron
and Irvana Wilks. Absent from the Executive Session was Trustee Timothy Corcoran.
Also present were: Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant to the Village
Manager David Strahl.
The purpose of the Executive Session was to discuss the appointment of Special Counsel
to the Police Chief to assist in prosecution of disciplinary matters before the Board of Fire
and Police Commissioners. Village Manager Michael Janonis reviewed with elected
officials a confidential memo outlining the qualifications of Mr. Steve Colliton to serve as
Special Counsel, replacing Tom McGuire.
All elected officials present concurred with the recommendation and the Village Manager
was directed to place the appointment on the December 21 Village Board for official
action.
Trustee Hendricks requested that he engage the Board in discussion regarding the
performance of the Village Manager. At that time, the Village Manager and Assistant to
the Village Manager were excused from the room.
General discussion regarding the performance of the Village Manager was undertaken.
The Executive Session was adjourned after a Motion by Trustee Skowron and Seconded
by Trustee \^Jilks at 10:49 p.m.
