MINUTES
EXECUTIVE SESSION
DECEMBER 8, 1992
The Executive Session was called to order at 11:20 p.m., in the second floor Conference
Room _of the Senior Citizens Center, 50 South Emerson Street, for the purpose of
discussing Personnel. Present at the Executive Session were: Mayor Gerald Farley;
Trustees Mark Busse, George Clowes, Timothy Corcoran, Leo Floros, Paul Hoefert and
Irvana Wilks. Also present was Village Manager Michael Janonis.
Personnel
Village Manager reviewed with elected officials the status of labor negotiations with the
Police Union. The Village Manager indicated that a mediator was present to help
facilitate the negotiating process. Most language problems have been resolved amicably.
The parties are still very far apart on economic issues including changes to the benefit
level of the Village's medical insurance program.
The Village Manager also informed the elected officials that the Union would be filing
necessary papers to begin the arbitration process. Due to the differences between the
Village and Union position regarding economics, it is quite likely that resort to
arbitration will become necessary. There was also discussion regarding the impact that
the current Firefighters Agreement was having on the bargaining process.
The Executive Session was adjourned after a Motion by Trustee Busse and Seconded
by Trustee Floras at 11:52 p.m.
