CLOSED SESSION
FEBRUARY 25, 2003

The Closed Session was called to order at 8:05 p.m. by Mayor Farley, in the Central Community
Center Conference Room. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Personnel. Present
were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana
Wilks and Michael Zadel. Staff present included Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant
Village Manager David Strahl.
Personnel
Village Manager Janonis provided a proposed Village response for dissemination to the press
regarding ongoing Public Works' negotiations and picketing.
He also stated that the Police Chief is recommending that John Dahlberg be considered for the
promotion to the vacant Deputy Chief position. He stated he is inclined to endorse the Chiefs
recommendation and would anticipate a swearing in at the next Village Board meeting.
Assistant Village Manager Strahl provided a summary of activity regarding a recent threat by a
Public Works employee. He stated that the threat was verbalized and witnessed. The Human
Resources' staff followed up on the threat and suspended the employee pending investigation. The
Union has grieved the suspension and it is currently winding its way through the discussion stages to
determine whether the employee would be considered for return.
There was no further business and the Closed Session adjourned at 9:37 p.m.
