Janonis MINUTES CLOSED SESSION FEBRUARY 11, 2003 [?(l1J[1[1 [fJ~[b~~[g [Q)&V~ 3-~~JO The Closed Session was called to order at 8:44 p.m. by Mayor Farley, in the Central Community Center Board Room. The purpose of the Closed Session was to discuss Land Acquisition. Present were: Trustees Timothy Corcoran, Paul Hoefert, Richard Lohrstorfer, Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Michael Zadel. Staff present included Village Manager Michael Janonis and Assistant Village Manager David Strahl. Land Acauisition Village Manager Janonis provided background details on the projected amount of SWANCC land that would need to be purchased for compensatory replacement for the use of Cook County Forest Preserve landregarding the Levee 37 project. The amount of land that the Village would be responsible for is approximately 2.5 acres with Prospect Heights also purchasing the same amount at a projected price tag of $42,228 per acre. He suggested that consideration be made to get the land assembled and ready to go so that when the Army Corps of Engineers is ready to more forward with the Levee project, everything will be in place. He stated there are funds available in the Flood Control Fund for the projected purchase and some additional negotiation would be necessary with SWANCC to agree to a possible purchase price. Consensus of the Village Board was to negotiate for a purchase price from SWANCC for 2.5 acres for compensatory land as part of the Levee 37 project.
